Have just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel. It has recently been overhauled (the sea view rooms have all been done but not all the others I think) and we thought it was terrific. Very full on, bling decor, mirrors and silver everywhere, a little over the top for some people but we really enjoyed it, and... More

Arriving on Saturday and finding a stylish hotel was great. Great start to the weekend. Staff brilliant all round and could not do enough to help (especially coping with a medical condition which resulted in my going to Bournemouth Hospital). The 1930's decor was lovely as were the rooms, food and general atmosphere of the hotel. More

Attended a family wedding with my husband and two children (3 years and 6 months). It was a beautiful wedding venue and it was obvious that the staff had worked very hard to make the day what it was. Best bits were the sparkly event room and the wedding breakfast. The evening buffet wasn’t as good. As a family we... More

We stayed at the Cumberland as a Valentines treat, absolutely loved this stylish hotel. The three course meal was faultless and served by attentive staff in a beautiful dining area. The staff really deserve a mention, everyone that I came across was exceptionally helpful and friendly, a real credit to their hotel. Top quality hotel and will definitely return. More

We booked a two night stay at the Cumberland through Hotels.com. The day before travel I received an email from hotels.com saying that I had to pay an extra £40.00 to accommodate my 2nd child. (I had booked and been charged for a room for 2x adults and 2x children) so to be asked for more money just before traveling... More

Four of us visited the Cumberland for my birthday week-end. This was my 5th visit to the Cumberland. On arrival we were greeted by very friendly reception staff but our rooms were not ready - even though they were guaranteed from 2.30 p.m. We went for an hour's walk and then managed to gain access to our rooms. Both rooms... More

My wife and I have just returned home from a fantastic weekend at the Cumberland Hotel where we were treated to a break by our family to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our arrival was a bit shakey to start with as the parking is a bit tight, then when we checked in the receptionist tried to charge us for a... More

I had heard good things about the Cumberland Hotel prior to booking our company Christmas party there, and this favourable opinion was reinforced on the night. The party was a great sucsess; as the staff all enjoyed the food, hospitality and general atmosphere of the hotel bar and restaurant. Despite being extremely busy the hotel staff seemed to take it... Took advantage of winter sale and stayed for a couple of days (Thursday & Friday). Found all the staff very polite and friendly. Faulty light bulb tripped out the electrics and was resolved within 20 minutes on our second evening. Had a sea view room which was well decorated but the floors were creaky and the bathroom needs attention -... More

Dear TJD5, thank you for being a great customer of the hotel, particularly the food and beverage operation. Our coffee at Breakfast is actually Dow Egberts premium coffee, the self serve machines were placed in for customer convenience in line with many European and London hotels, we also have the option of fresh Costa coffee from the bar at a...
