If you arrive in Bournemouth on a sunny day then the whole town seems to have the look and feel of a mediterranean resort. On arrival at the hotel I was given room 516 which is one of the cottages along from the leisure club. It was lovely, spotless and very quiet. I asked to be placed in this room... more
As we were going to a concert at the BIC we booked the Marriott which is right next door. We have stayed there a couple of times in the past and opted for one of the Coastguards' Cottages which have sea views and are better appointed than the other rooms. The price paid was huge bearing in mind the quality... more
The Highcliff Marriott hotel has a lot to learn about customer service. We were not even lucky enough to get to our travel date with the Highcliff Marriott Hotel due to the poor way in which our booking was handled. You would think that when booking a 'spa weekend' at the Highcliff Marriott the reservation team would be smart enough... more
I love the Marriott hotels in general and this one didn't disapoint. Stayed here for five nights in May for a conference. The hotel is perched on top of the cliff and offers some excellent views over the sea. Nice seating areas outside and, although i didn't do this, you can walk / cycle / jog etc all the way... more
Interior design refurbishment is 95% complete so it looks like a very good 4* corporate standard hotel. From the moment we arrived the service was excellent, thoughtful, and completely on-the-ball. At check-in they thought we might be inconvenienced by noise from a wedding, so they moved us (the kids were in tow) from our booked suite to a higher floor... more
Upon arrival at about 2pm I was told there weren't any rooms available and to return in 2 hours. When I returned I was given a small room on the 4th floor in the eves. Unfortunately this was a smoking room (which I discovered later on with the smell of smoke coming from the other rooms) and I had specifically... more
We were attending a wedding at the Highcliff Castle - unfortunately room was not yet ready for us to get changed. They did however let us change in a smaller room (which was small but very nicely decorated). When we arrived back at the hotel, they had already moved our bags to our room, we were allocated in the "Cottages".... more
We were interested to go back to this area as both my husband and I had spent summer holidays as children in Sandbanks. I had asked for a 4th floor non smoking room so on checking the booking on the internet before we left I was disappointed to see we were allocated a smoking room with disabled access. On ringing... more
On the 11th June I completed a Satisfaction Survey and enclosed a Complaint letter. Six months on I haven’t received a reply. The issues were: 1. Firstly the lunch and bar food really is appalling. The chef needs sacking; you get better quality food in MacDonald’s. The food was simply pre-processed and heated up. 2. We found out only upon... more
