Bland I'm afraid is the word I'd use to describe this hotel. Rooms really bland, nondescript toiletries and unbranded tea and coffee (both a bit stale) just gave it a lifeless feel. The decor in the public areas is very traditional hotel with heavily patterned carpets and stiff rather uncomfortable sofas geometrically arranged with precision. The young foreign staff are... more

We booked in the Miramar for one night after trying several hotels in Westcliff. The hotel was very clean and well maintained and ideally located for a stroll into the town centre along the cliff front. Our room was to the rear of the hotel but we did pay a low rate and did not book in advance. However the... more

3 generations stayed here for one overnight. The single room was very small, with noise from the adjoining room coming through the locked door which would have led into it; the twin room was adequate. It was all very clean and quiet (mid-week). Staff were courteous, helpful and available when required. Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of safe carparking. Beautiful gardens.... more

My Fiance and I stayed at the Miramar for a weekend break in July. We had booked a Deluxe room overlooking the sea and (for the price we paid) we expected more than we got. The room was a standard size, we did have a shared balcony (but it had clearly not been swept prior to our stay and the... more

Ok, so the hotel inside IS dated, the rooms ARE old fashioned in terms of furniture and decor, but I am charmed by the place, and enjoy going back there. Our spacious room was on the first floor, had a huge bed and a great balcony decorated with window boxes overlooking the lovely gardens and the sea. Large glasses, fridge... more

Booked the hotel hoping for a quiet night - at the time of booking we were not informed that a function would mean music playing till 1.00am (2.00 with putting the clocks forward) and whilst the band ended the attenddes carried on being noisy. Our room was right above the function room. The state of the plumbing means that when... more

My husband and I stayed at the Miramar for Valentines weekend. The hotel is ideally situated for the beach the pier and shops, we had a room on the 1st floor with a balcony and the view was great. The room was lovely with a large bed, sofa and chairs and large jacuzzi bath. The piano player in the lounge... more

This hotel is fantastic, really. We walked along the clifftop from Bournemouth pier & the first place we came to was the Miramar. The location was perfect for the town centre (only 5 minutes away), the gardens are beautiful (even in December). From the moment we walked in we were made to feel at home. We were offered a great... more
