We booked into the Exeter for one night only, and had we not to return home, would happily have stayed longer. The room was certainly not the most modern we have stayed in, but was a very good size, very clean, and extremely comfortable, and you could see the effort the hotel had gone to in order to make it... more

I booked into Bournemouth for a cruise leaving out of Southampton. Was a bit nervous of the town's "stag and hen" reputation, but the prices were right. After good research, I chose the Royal Exeter because of price, location and reviews on multiple sites (and in spite of some on here.) On the bus ride from the train station ,... more

After a recommendation I stayed at this hotel with friends. The bars are some of the best I have been to because they have a good balance of ages and great music/atmosphere/food. They had live music on until midnight(ish) and still had a good atmoshere late afternoon after the beach!! Rooms very reasonably priced and clean. more

Horrible time here; lift not working, food cold & not much of it. Soup-less than 2 spoonfuls- pollock (fish) was supposed to be roasted, instead was pan fried. Potatoes & veg did not arrive at all, had to tell waiter, when they arrived they were cold. was told no cider at all in hotel when I asked for half pint... more

We booked the Royal Exeter Hotel based on the great reviews and the way it sells itself on the website. I must admit that it IS a good hotel with modern bars, professional service, good breakfast choice and a great location. However, we booked family rooms at the hotel during the school holidays to spend a few days on the... more

This hotel was just recently renovated. It is right across the street from the BIC and the pier. The hotel has character (squeaky floors and a great staircase). but still a lot of amenities. Each room has a heated towel rack, trouser press, tv and more. We had a very large twin room and a small, but adequate single room.... more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during a recent long weekend break in Bournemouth. The location is excellent, 5 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from town. We booked through Expedia and were allocated a large family room even though we'd only booked a double and we therefore had masses of space. The room was tastefully decorated,... more

Comfortable room. Close to conference centre. 2 min walk to seafront but you cannot see the sea from hotel, well I couldnt. Free secure parking (lifting barrier on carpark) Terrible service in front bar. There was a menu on the table. I wanted to order food but the girl behind the bar saw me but would not come to take... more

Hotel is very contempory with a homely feel. Room we had was very spacious althought a little dated compared to the decor with the rest of the hotel. Felt some features in room had been updated whilst others were neglegted. Clean tidy & pleasant service. Bars in the hotel are well worth a try to, especially the cocktails. Ideal location... more
