Yes the hotel is dated in terms of decor and shower & toilet when you compare this to up market hotels but at £30 per night including breakfast id say thats good value for money. Had we been staying here in 1928, I would have been pleasantly suprised by the modern decor. When you go for a short stay away, you expect some basic things and you can't get more basic than this place! The TV only had 2 channels which kept losing signal and had no remote control. Only stayed 2 nights in this dated hotel with creaking floorboards, above and below and 1950's decor. Bathroom suite had shower fixing just above bath so you had to sit in to use it with no curtain or shower screen. Went to reception and was greeted by horrendous brown swirly carpets, extremely outdated décor and a distinctive smell of must, mould and stale smoke. We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel within walking distance to the beach and town.
