My wife and I had used Trip Advisor to identify several prospective B&Bs in Dorchester but, upon our arrival there late in the afternoon, found that none of them could accommodate us for our two-night stay. A visit to the Dorchester Tourist Information Centre (on Antelope Walk in the center of town) solved our problem. A Centre staff member identified several places we could stay and, after we had made a choice based on the information she provided, called and made a reservation at The White House on our behalf.

What a happy choice! Instead of being a back-up, any-port-in-a-storm solution, the White House turned out to be the nicest B&B we stayed in during our two-week visit to the west country of England. The location was perfect -- in a quiet, rather elegant part of town. The house itself was wonderful, truly a home away from home.
