Ideally situated in a quiet village yet near so many resorts such as Bournemouth and Weymouth. The Poachers is dog friendly and allow your dog in the bar and will serve your food in bar. Quality of food is very good and all staff are very friendly and helpful. Been there three times now and will definitely go back. In... more

Booked in for a 2 night getaway as a family and was extremely dissapointed! First family room (no.10) great layout but on closer expection the room smelt damp and was not very clean. The room felt cold, the tv didn't work (although was changed) the window has green mould inside and it was not comfortable at all. Stayed for evening... more

we stayed here on their winter special and we paid extra for a room upgrade for an executive room as we wanted a little more luxury and space. the service was okay and we did enjoy the food. however the real let down for me was the room. it was not very good at all, the size was great but... more

On arriving in the car park in the sun all looked very inviting though the Reception desk was not so, very dark and dismal. After sorting out the confusion with the wrong rooms booked (their fault not ours) we had to find the rooms ourselves. First impression was fine, attractive, clean with everything you needed. The new bath was very... more

We arrived at the Paochers Inn at around 4 in the afternoon, the pub was quite busy not packed, about 8 people at the bar and 4 people eating, we waited at the reception for 15 minutes before we got checked in as there was only one lady on, (who was rather grumpy and rude) and she was doing the... more

We stayed for one night on 2nd Jan, and got no sleep at all. The smoking place is outside the rooms (be very aware!) so until 3.30am we had to listen to people talking laughing and messing around all night, dogs and dog whistles, and they would not shut up when asked. The new bit is very poorly built, so... more

My room at this establishment was basic and I found it to be very uncomfortable. The menu looked fairly attractive but what arrived on the plate was not. This is certainly a beautiful part of the country but if I was advising family or friends I would say 'don't stay here'. more

I found this place on the doggie pubs website as we were looking for somewhere to take our dog along for a few days walking in the area. Had a fantastic time, room was lovely, food good although service was a little slow at times. The dog also enjoyed herself and was able to sit with with us while we ate... more

What a brilliant find! Even though the village name raised a titter or two - Piddletrenthide! It is a really beautiful inn, easy to find and just a glorious place to stay! Our bedroom was on the ground floor by the main outdoor seating area, and was furnished to a high standard, spacious and well decorated. It was was handy... more

This was our Honeymoon Hotel - the place where we were to spend our first night as "man and wife" - we pushed the boat out and paid £120.00 for the "Honeymoon" suite. Thankfully our wedding was a complete success and we arrived at The Poachers Inn only as it was closing - around 11.00pm. Our bags had already been... more
