Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and had room 20 at the front of the hotel. It can be a little noisy from passing traffic and people entering and leaving the bar downstairs if you have the window open. The room was a double and was comfortable and clean. The bathroom suite looked quite new. The breakfast is good... more

Stayed for 5 nights in one of the "refurbished" rooms. Okay - but we thought 4 hangers in the wardrobe was a bit sparse. And two of the light bulbs next to the bed didn't work. And the bedroom curtain was a blind with a two foot transparent section right down the middle! The staff were great - and we... more

This hotel looks really wonderful from the outside but it is greatly let down by the accommodation upstairs. This hotel is very much over priced The rooms at this hotel bear no resemblance to the pictured rooms in any advertisements we have seen. We looked at three different rooms before taking room 26 even this was not up to a... more

I completely disagree with the majority of the reviews on here, i've stayed at The Wherry twice, both for romantic getaways, the first time we were in room 12 back in September 2006, the room couldn't be faulted, was exactly what we would have expected for the price, the room was tidy, well dressed, bathroom clean, amazing views, breakfast the... more

Stayed in a miniscule single room. Room needed updating, inc bathroom e.g. chipped wardrobe, window opens all or nothing, no bath only a shower, cracked floor tiles in bathroom and shelf water stained. Also carpet was worn and no valance was used on the bed - revealing a rather disgusting divan bed. Clearly one previous double room had been split... more

We stayed at the Wherry Hotel for a romantic break, although after reading many, many reviews we nearly didnt. BUT,we had no reason whatsoever to complain, the room (His Lordships Suite)The view was breathtaking. The staff, the service and even the food was excellent. We were extremely pleased and wouldnt hesitate to reccomend friends and family. I'm sure we will be visiting again in the... more

Having read the reviews on-line I thought "we're only staying one night so the room is unimportant, as long as the food is good as everyone says the breakfast will be worth it". Well....... The room - small, cramped, decorated in the 1960's and very VERY dark. The bed - the world's saggiest mattress! Hopefully the bites we're both covered... more

I was given room 21 which is awful, outlook of flat roof, airconditioning funnel, fire escape and bad odour and yet we were to pay full price. The hotel only had a few rooms let so why were we given this one? Fortunately we were given another room. which our daughter was reserving the following night. She was told when... more

We live in Essex and have a nice static caravan 40 mins. drive from lowestoft. However, on my birthday in July we like to do something different like book into a special hotel room. The sunset suite at the wherry seemed just the job. We had originally booked for 2 nights but only stayed 1. After we had checked in... more

Was going to stay but the bar area was so poor and unwelcoming. Could not find any staff to serve me so. Left and stayed elsewhere: Unfortunately trip advisor you were a bit misleading this time. more
