We stayed because all of our usual hotels were full - was surprised and pleased to get a room at short notice - but having stayed there, can see why they snapped my arm off for a booking. Far from the boutique opulence as promised on the website (schoolboy error to ever believe that I know) the hotel was oppressive... more

The hotel has obviously been recently refurbished and was very nicely done out, however it appeared that there was very little management going on during our stay and it is clearly still rough around the edges. Examples include: - Check-in was from 2pm, we were informed of a one-hour delay on arrival, but not with any form of apology. We... more

Just back from a weekend break in Brighton, spent at the lovely Royal York hotel, which was an oasis of calm in a city splitting at the seams with stag and hen parties. The hotel was refurbished about 2 months ago, and is looking great. Our room was lovely, the bed was massive, molton brown toiletries, fluffy dressing gowns etc.... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for two nights last weekend. The girl who checked us in was great, very friendly and approachable, I felt I could have asked her anything and she would have tried her best to fulfill our requests. All the staff were polite and friendly. The location is excellent, very close to the sea... more

Stayed at the Royal York for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. The hotel location is great - very central for shopping, restaurants and sightseeing. The room itself was bright and comfortable even if the decor was a little strange - a mix of old fashioned and modern styling that didnt quite work together. The bed was big and fairly comfy... more

I stayed here for one night over the easter holiday, we booked this as a lot of other places had a minimum 2-3 night stay! I booked over the phone and requested a sea view on a high floor. The hotel is very central, about 4minutes walk to the sea/right by the pier and a few minutes walk from the... more

This is a beautifully decorated hotel in a really good location - right by the seafront and a moments walk from the shops. We ate in the hotel on our first night and the food was excellent - really enjoyed it. With the hotel being new everything is clean and the room was a decent size with a lovely bathroom.... more

Last week I decided to book my wife and I a romantic weekend away in Brighton and decided to stay at this hotel after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. The hotel not only met my expectations but indeed exceeded them. My wife and I had a superb queen room overlooking the sea and although it was raining all weekend... more

Fab Hotel, we stayed for the weekend in a queen room which was superb. The room was larger than expected and had the most wonderful view of the beach. The hotel has just been refurb and everything is beautiful and pristine. We arrived later than expected on the Friday so decided to eat in the Hotel restaurant. The meal was... more

We stayed over the weekend and had an excellent time, we had a king room, luxurious and sumptuously decorated. Extremely comfortable bed and being new everything is pristine. As the weather wasn't so great we ate in the restaurant and I am so glad we did! They have a huge array of fresh fish and meat. I had the lamb... more
