I booked this hotel at the last minute on a Friday night. We booked a double room for £99, it is a fair price when compared to other hotels in the area. This price did not include breakfast. We arrived at the thistle in the midst of a storm having booked in for the 10k run weekend. We stayed for 2 nights in a superior sea view double room. The room was ok, nothing special really considering it was supposed to be a superior double room. the sea view was lovely, but you could not open any of the fixex windows therefore the room had no natural ventilation and was very stuffy and hot even in November.... more

My wife and I stayed at the Thistle for one night in a sew view deluxe room in November. The hotel is ideally situated right on the sea front and close to the pier and shops. This hotel is located in an ideal spot - opposite the beach, great parking and walking distance to shops, restaurants and theatres. We paid what I think is a lot of money for a very small very average 'non sea view' room, so was a little put out having to pay an extra £22 pounds a day on top for parking. Our room, although nice and clean, had a real tired look about it, but luckily was blessed with a mini-bar, shame... more
