We also stayed at the Thistle on the night of the fire evacuation. The circumstances were unfortunuate however we were moved into an adjacent hotel where water and other drinks were available. Staff also came round offering snacks. As the staff knew little on the situation inside the hotel themselves it was difficult to keep informed however once the problem... more

My wife and I arrived at this hotel Thursday, September 18. In the middle of the night the hotel guiests were evacuated to the streets because a gas detector went off (we only found this out hours later). We were not allowed to return for almost five hours and in all that time were not offered even a glass of... more

We stayed at the Thistle Brighton mid August for a weekend away. On arrival we found that the car park was closed because some numpty had crashed into the bollard thing. the alternative entrance to the Thistle car park is not really obvious, its says its an NCP, no clear association with the hotel. There is a lift which goes... more

This hotel needs a major renovation. It is truly showing its age. Very poor value for what you get, which is a room that is outdated, in need of repairs, new paint and new carpet. Nice staff but clearly they are uncomfortable with their place of employment (they say “I’m sorry” a lot). We were booked for two nights and... more

I've read a couple of reviews on this hotel and some are less happy than we were. For us with two adults and a 1 year old, this hotel was perfect. The room was a typcially Thistle-esque cosy room with nothing too flash but certainly nothing to moan about. The aircon wasn't as good as it could have been but... more

A 2 night stay for business was not the most pleasant experience. Forgive the exterior looks, it is on a sea front and open to the elements. Internally this hotel is not looking tired but more like it's in a coma! The best features are the corridors, very bright and contemproary but then you eventually open your door - this... more

Stayed for two nights end of July. Travelled with my husband and 6 months old baby. The location of this hotel is great - beautiful views onto the prom. We found the staff to very friendly and most helpful. Check-in/out was smooth and fast. Great restaurant - outstanding breakfast. The rooms were spotless. We would highly recommend this hotel and... more

Just returned from a 4 night stay in a family side sea view room with my husband and 9 yr old daughter. Fantastic location and the welcome we received from Ken the concierge, has put other 5 star hotels to shame! Instantly made us feel welcome and took time to let us know about all the attractions nearby without having... more

The sea view rooms have no windows that open, which would be fine if the air conditioning works! we moved rooms once but to no avail. My parents were also staying there and they had the same problem. This August has been very hot so you can imagine what it was like to stay in a room with no windows... more

I stayed here on business for one night, with my husband. We had a seaview deluxe room and the view was really excellent. The room was nicely decorated, clean and very relaxing. I would have liked opening windows though. The location of this hotel is the greatest draw, right IN the Lanes, with entrances to the front (seafront) and back... more
