Nicely located, 10 minutes walk to The Lanes area. Lovely spacious room with memory mattress & pillows. Dinky yellow bathroom with rain shower, very nice. The road it's located on appears to be mainly student / rented flats, however we had no real noise issues. Would have no hesitation in recommending. more

Loved this hotel - very small and personal, not an institutionalised chain. Our room was lovely, huge bed and a chaise longue too. There was a huge flat screen tv with freeview and dvd player, a gorgeous silver wardrobe and even the same kind of curtains I have at home! Catherine was friendly enough, and gave us directions when we... more

This hotel is very glamorous and sheek. Our room was a suite and it was amazing. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have had in a hotel. The staff - Alex, Catherine and Nathalie- were all very helpful. I would stay here again. There was water left in the room and the downstairs bar area was a... more

I chose this hotel because of the mainly positive reviews on this website, and also the hotel's statements about personal service. While the decor in the lounge bar is great, and the breakfast is very good, there are a couple of things I think staff need to look to. On the two nights we were there, the guy in reception... more

We stayed at the Oriental for our Conference in May 09. The lad in reception welcomed us and was a pleasure throughout the stay. Very helpful and by the third day knew our breakfast off by heart. The rooms were very clean and were cleaned (and refreshments refilled) every day. The memory foam matress was bliss! The breakfasts were excellent... more

I stayed in the Oriental with 3 friends and found our room to be comfortable and very clean. The hotel is in a great location close to the sea and about 15 min walk away from The Lanes shopping area. Great place to stay for a weekend. Only disappointment is that we had to wait over an 1 hour for... more

We are pleased you enjoyed your stay but we are very sorry that you had to wait for your breakfast. All our breakfasts are cooked fresh to order which will inevitably cause some delays at the busiest times. However we had a new chef starting that weekend and to be honest, things did not go according to plan causing a...

A lovely B&B with bright, decent sized rooms. We had a large luxury double which had a great shower. Friendly staff and tasty breakfast cooked to order, the only downside was the wait at breakfast which was up to 1.5 hours from arriving to finishing... worth the wait though. more

My friend and I have just spent 2 nights at the Oriental and had a lovely time..it was the perfect place to base ourselves for our short stay. We stayed in the twin room at the back of the hotel, this looked out onto a nice little courtyard area and the bar! (we were warned to close the blind before... more

I stayed in a single room for 3 nights for a conference and was pleasantly surprised at what I found. The room was bright and clean with modern fittings and splashes of vibrant colour especially in the bathroom. In a nutshell, this is what I have to say about my stay: - Clean and well decorated room which was reflected... more

Our first trip to Brighton and I'm not sure how we happened upon the Oriental but it was fun! The hotel is in a very mixed street with lots happening in it - sometimes all night! The room was a serious climb up endless flights of stairs but comfortable, quite stylish and good to be in - if only the... more
