The Oriental was a great mix of modern (plumbing that actually delivers a powerful shower, cool furnishings and design and so on) and old-fashioned (being greeted personally by the owner, getting tailored recommendations about where to eat and so on). The staff were great. Catherine, the owner, called me before arrival to see whether I needed help finding it, and... More

Second visit just the week before xmas to tie in with a much looked forward to Aloe Blacc concert. Delicious food, great character, made to feel very welcome, chilled and close enough to amenities, but allowed us to have a decent walk in to town. However, best room without a doubt is on the super deluxe without the balcony, higher... More

We Stayed for two nights and stayed in room 4 it was comfy,a good size and clean , the breakfast was fantastic , my only slight negatives were the tv control which seemed to be a little temperamental and we didn't realise the hot water wouldn't be on all day, but when we requested it they sorted this very quickly.... My boyfriend and I spontaneously took a trip to brighton this weekend after seeing an offer for bed and breakfast at the oriental. After hearing good things from friends I immediately booked with a very friendly young man on the phone. On arrival we were chuffed that we had been upgraded, the hotel seemed quaint enough and the location was... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights. Upon walking into the hotel we were very impressed. It was cosy and the staff were very polite. We were greeted by Catherine who was very helpful. We don't actually live far from Brighton so we knew where we were going but nonetheless we were still offered directions and recommendations to... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our room (No 5) was a decent size with a really comfy bed, a decent amount of storage space for a short stay, and a flat screen tv. There was a good walk-in shower too, and everything was very clean. The staff we're really helpful and friendly and the breakfasts were fantastic! Full English... More

We hadn't originally booked this place but after arriving at our original destination and being very disappointed we called The Oriental who were very helpful and had space for us and our little dog! The room was great (can't remember room number!) very modern, flat screen tv with built in DVD, big walk-in shower and the bed was sooo comfy!... More

Arrived Tuesday afternoon and was greeted by Catherine... shown to Room 7 which is a lovely little suite, modern in decoration, comfortable and accommodating. Bottle on ice was waiting as per instructions by email. Lovely double sinked bathroom and jacuzzi bath with the best overhead shower! Catherine was extremely helpful and obliging. Bed was extremely comfortable with the memory foam... More

Arrived Wednesday for a two night stay - Our room was at the top (room8) and was a fair climb to the top but worth every step. lovely sized bed with memory foam and a more than accommodating shower that also housed the toilet. A delicious breakfast was served on both mornings consisting of bacon, sausage, beans, eggs (fried or scrambled) fruit juice... More

This is a lovely hotel and a great place to stay in Brighton. The staff were lovely and the food excellent. We loved the organic fruit breakfast. The carpet needs a facelift throughout but other than that, we loved it. More
