Out with the old, in with the new. I've faced a lot of hurdles since being in Brighton but moving into The Grapevine was possibly the best thing that has happened to me since being here. I've been hanging out and getting to know all sorts of people, it's like a little community here - everyone with their own stories,... more

We had booked three rooms for the weekend for a group. On arrival at the hotel at 4pm were told that the rooms weren't ready. That was a stroke of luck for them, because if we had seen them so early in the day, we would have moved!! The hotel has a good location - right on the sea front.... more

We paid £80 for two rooms (4 people) at the Grapevine seafront hostel and we were very impressed. For the money we paid the rooms were very clean, quiet spacious, had good en-suites and were right on the sea front close to everything. They were very tolerant to stag n hen parties that were there and the staff were very... more

Booked 20 beds in dormatories for a stag do. Paid 50% of the total cost as a deposit. Warned them a few weeks before that there would only be 15 of us, in hope they could fill the spare beds. Expected to lose the deposit on the 5 beds, in the end they charged me the full amount. This is... more

With the pound being so high i have found backpackers hostels ideal because you 1 get a pretty decent twin room much cheaper than bnbs and the kitchen fascilities give you a ccess to your own cooked food eliminating restaurants, chip shops and fast food takeaways so you can splash out a little more on the things you choose rather than... more

Came across these reviews when trying to forward details of the now renamed Grapevine to my friend and felt I had to put the record straight. I found this place to be clean, comfortable with fantastic views and even a good brekkie! It's in the middle of town close to everything from trendy bars to cheesy clubs and of course... more

The dirtiest and filthiest place on earth and beyond!!!! I had to stay there for one night because I couldnt find any other place. My friend and I had to share a room with other 4 people we didnt know, and one of them was a strange girl (I think a tramp or something)who started to shout and cry in... more

On arrival we were confronted by a building that looked like it had been painted inside and out by someone on LSD, and smelled like an old takeaway. There were several people lounging around in our room smoking, for no apparent reason. The room, and our beds, were strewn with rubbish, old food and ashtrays. We were given one clean... more

I have travelled down to Brighton a few times and twice i stayed in a backpackers.Brighton Backpackers is disgusting! You can literally feel things growing on the walls and the floors. The beds all have Bugs and it really isn't a place anyone should go.I know that their a backpackers and so you'd go there because it's cheap but, this... more

We had planned to stay in this hostel for 2 days, however when we arrived we found the rooms to be filthy and very untidy and the beds and linen to be pretty gross. Ive stayed in many youth hostels in the past and it was one of the worst I had seen, after some deliberation and trying to find... more
