My girlfriend and I stayed here for the weekend, and can only describe this place as diabolical. The room was of a resonable size but the decor and condition were hideous. The room was dirty, and smelly due to the aroma of breakfast being fried. Windows were filthy, curtains were stained and held back with string for tie backs. Thes... more

We have stayed here two years running for a conference. This is really handy for the Brighton conference centre, just a couple of minutes walk away. The owners are very helpful and the breakfasts memorable for all the right reasons!! In fact, it's probably worth going just to experience the different (wonderful) breakfasts. The rooms are what you'd expect with... more

Inside the hotel it has a lovely old fashioned character which some might fuss over, however I was very pleased with this hotel. We booked a twin room and was pleasantly surprised when we had a double bed each and a sea view. Good value for money. The staff were friendly & helpful. Reception welcome was good, with a hand... more

This hotel isn’t going to win any awards but if you’re on a budget and can tolerate average levels of cleanliness I think you should check this place out. Our double room on the first floor was spacious (think another double bed had been taken out) with a balcony & sea view there was no en-suite but the shower/toilet was... more

I stayed at the Cecil last weekend, having stayed previously in 2005 during which time I vowed never to return. The 2007 experience wasn't quite as painful as the first time which had quite unbelieveable. This time around things had improved somewhat. The staff were helpful, our booking was on the system when we arrived and the room we booked... more

This hotel has got to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room we had was on the 4th floor, we were told on the phone that there was plenty of room for four people. But the truth of it was that there was not ever enough room to swing a cat. The room was dirty and... more

stayed here for a hen weekend, 22 girls, ok we wanted cheap and cheerful, but not cheap and dreadful. Our room at the top (4th floor) was freezing cold the radiator didnt work, the shower took forever to even get warm. There were 2 double beds shoved together for 4 people with hardly any space to get around them (so... more

Me and my Boyfriend decided to take a relaxing weekend break to Brighton. After much walking around we came across the Cecil Hotel We asked at Reception how much the room would be. It was £140.00 for 2 nights stay. We said we would look at the room before we paid. We was told that there would be no en... more

Nice, but you won't see me there again . Our room on the 4th floor had a VERY noisy metal frame bed and hardly any water in the morning. My guess is that that the pipes are undersized and all the water gets used up on floors below. Just a trickle for you guys on the 4th floor. Not enough... more
