As with many reviewers for Blanch House, I booked the Galaxy room for a romantic get away after looking at their slick website. Staff were friendly and booking was handled well. When we got there we got taken up to the room and were instantly dissapointed! The room was dirty and dusty, the remotes for the telly didnt work, and... more

It is far too expensive for what you get. It is not a high quality hotel and it´s not worthy to pay their rate of 80 pounds. The service is not good and they don´t really care for the customers, they just care for their payment as soon as possible. The rooms are very small, and I felt more like... more

I booked into the hotel as a treat for a friend and I. I was impressed by the website and photographs of the accommodation and general press raving. Some things in the hotel are fantastic. The staff are generally brilliant although the breakfast waitress manages to be both humourless and domineering by equal measure. Great food, brilliant cocktails. The problem... more

This was the second time we stayed at Blanch House and though we were staying in a more expensive, larger room, we liked it less than last time. The rooms do not have nearly enough space or amenites. Simple things like a bin in the bedroom, sufficient towel rails and a chair would really help. There is nowehere to put... more

From the outside it looks like just an ordinary building. Entering it, it was small and dark. The staff were very laid back, friendly, but not overly professiohal - nice to you because they liked you rather than being polished professsionals. I had no issues And now..the rooms! I stayed in the Alice. I have never stayed in such a... more

I came away thinking I might stay again , but in hindsight probably would not. There is little point in complaining that it is a townhouse in a street of similar houses (some of which do happen to be student accomodation) if you've done your research and know what you are going to. On the inside, Blanch House defies its... more

Have to echo some of the bad reviews on here, I definitely wouldn't stay here again!! Pros: Staff are nice enough, cocktail bar is very nice (if pricey). Good location. Bed was really comfortable. Cons: It's just not worth the money!! I would have been happy enough to pay half the price, but it isn't worth the rack rate. Cooked... more

We had previously visited Brighton many times staying at Brighton Wave, The Queens Hotel and the New Madeira Hotel (with the funky fish night club). The “Blanch House” website is nice and FLASH, the navigation requires a PhD (that I have). The rooms cannot be viewed unless you select “book now” or download a PDF. Surely this is the age... more

We have just returned from a fantastic weekend at Blanch House. The room we stayed in (Moroccan) was lovely - the photos don't do it justice. The bar was great (amazing cocktails and friendly bar-staff) as was the restaurant. Having read previous reviews I was apprehensive about eating in the restaurant as I'm extremely fussy... But the food was delicious... more
