After reading the other reviews for this hotel I felt the need to write to write my own. My husband and I spent our second year anniversary here in August and had a fantastic stay. Mark, the proprietor, was so helpful and gave us some gems of information that we would other wise not have found out in our very... more

I did not enjoy Nineteen and I'd say it is only suitable for very particular tastes. My partner's view was somewhat more damning - in fact she insisted that we leave and relocate ourselves to a different hotel altogether! The bottom line is that Nineteen is trying to be a boutique-y, minimalist, urban retreat-y kind of place (itself a cliché... more

Save your cash and look elsewhere. This is not a hotel at all. It is a B&B charging hotel prices. The place is called "Hotel Nineteen" but have a look at their website and you'll see the schizophrenia ... with it sometimes being described as a Hotel and sometimes described as a B&B. Why? Well, having booked there for a... more

Afraid I came away feeling deeply ripped-off as well. There are some good things about this place ... the main one being that it is centrally located near the shops, bars etc. and also near the sea. That said the street itself is as squalid as I don't know what, and there are numerous semi-derelict properties around. Not what you'd... more

Myself and a friend from San Francisco recently stayed at this hotel. Whilst we loved Brighton, we were very disappointed with Hotel Nineteen. There appeared to be a lot of pigeons flying around in the immediate area (seagulls I don't mind at a seaside resort, but not these pigeons - they really scared us). However the main problem with the... more

I hate to write an average review as the owner Mark was so helpful during our stay, booking us restaurants etc We stayed in the basement room that had the hottub. The pictures on the website are it has to be said very flattering. The room was very small and the the shower & toilet system were very noisy. My... more

My girlfriend and I have stayed at Hotel Nineteen twice now and have just booked for a third weekend later this year. We always stay in the "Courtyard Room" which features a private hot tub. We can both fully recommend this room - the location is handy, the room is always spotless, and the owner always very friendly and will... more

I wholeheartedly agree with the review of trek94. It appears we had the same room ("superior"king room with bath and shower) as the ceiling STILL had the same problem some 6 months after that review. The bathroom really is now of a poor standard given that the nightly rate for this room is over £150 per night. The finish overall... more

the day before we arrived mark the owner checked what time we would approximatly would be arriving so that he would have someone there to meet us, the room was clean and tidy, and the little touches such as the mineral water in the room and the gown and slippers to wear were well appriciated. breakfast on both mornings was... more

Just got back from a night away in Brighton having stayed at Hotel Nineteen. Its in a great location just aside from all the noise of the town but still right by the sea and really close to the lanes and lots of really lovely bars and restaurants. We felt really well looked after by Mark (the owner) who took... more
