We live in Hove so, although we're local, we decided to stay 'in town' after our wedding reception (at Due South on the beach - excellent!). I stayed in a suite with my new wife on our wedding night last November and it was excellent. The room had 2 baths in the bedroom as well as a lovely walk-in shower... more

I had high hopes of the Hotel du Vin but it didn't live up to them I'm afraid. Although some of the trimmings of a luxury bistro hotel are there - modern bathroom fittings including a stainless steel shower, plasma TV and good quality linen, the room had a dismal view and getting to it involved going up and down... more

I booked two rooms at the Hotel du Vin over Easter and they'd have different ratings: a 4 for one and a 5 for the other. What swayed me overall was that the food and general service in the hotel was much better than I'd expected, and really it's very good overall. My room was comfortable and light with a... more

This was our 1st stay at a Hotel du Vin and we would definitely go again. It wasn't cheap...we had a suite with 2 huge baths facing each other and a sea view too, but it was for my husbands birthday and so worth every penny for special occassion. We ate in the Bistro, which was top notch food and... more

Having read some of the reviews saying that it was not suitable for young children, can I just say our 4 year old was so impressed he's asking when are we going to stay at a hotel again?! Our room was spacious enough to fit a Z-bed and still not feel cramped. The dvd's you can borrow at reception, including... more

I booked this hotel after recommendations from friends for a family celebration for five people. Although only booking for one night, the hotel were helpful and courteous, even when I reduced our three room booking to two rooms, along with a request for a third bed to be put in a twin room. There is also no parking at all... more

This place is great. I took my partner there for two days for his 30th as a surprise. Just a word of warning as the building is listed the rooms are perhaps smaller than you would expect and that of other Du Vin properties. However the roll top baths and monsson showers continue to impress. The bar is fabulous, what... more

I know Brighton well, having gone to University there a few years ago. Apart from the Grand and Metropole, Brighton isn't blessed with large well maintained top end hotels. Both are nice enough, but more than a little dated, in Brighton terms at least. I'm not a fan of Boutique hotels in general, many being nothing more than overly fussy... more

Fantastic stay. I new it was going to be good when the concierge (Alex) spent 10 minuets showing me the bar, dining room and my room. The shower delivers 60 litres of water a minute, I had trouble breathing! An excellent wine cellar & great menu. Parking is an issue, so make sure you call ahead and reserve a space.... more
