To say the room was “Compact” is being generous, getting around the bed just possible and you had to place yourself strategically to open the wardrobe door. As for the bathroom, I had never seen an en-suite “shoehorned” into such a small space; you literally had to back onto the toilet because you could not turn between the loo &... more

The Alvia is a modern, tastefully decorated hotel with a warm, homely atmosphere. The hotel is in a good location - 3 mins walk to the seafront, 5/10 mins walk to Brighton pier and 15 mins walk to the main shopping area. My husband and I felt that it was a good location, but any further away and we would... more

If you are looking for a place to stay in Brighton - the Alvia Hotel is worth considering. Promoting itself as a boutique hotel, the Alvia is really a good quality Bed & Breakfast. The decor and furnishing are impressive and the room comes with a DVD/CD player - a real plus if we had planned ahead. The location is... more

This is a mix between a boutique hotel and and B & B. It has the high quality linens, dish TV and great bathroom soaps and lotions, but feels real intimate and more like your a guest of a rich friend. The location is great and close whatever scene you may be into in Brighton. By the way Brighton is... more

We stayed here at the end of May. Having been to Brighton before a couple of times i know how hard it is to pay less than "60 a night for a double room. This B&B is not a boutique hotel like it claims, it is a nice modern clean b&b, however some ikea furniture does not make it 'boutique'.... more

My boyfriend and I booked this hotel for the night on a weekend. There is so much accomodation in Brighton that it is often difficult to find one that is reasonable, clean and friendly as some people will stay anywhere just to be near the beach on a good day. Happy to report that the staff are so friendly and... more

I booked this hotel through the hotel website which was very simple and easy to use. The room price was about right for a single room in Brighton on a weeknight. The hotel was located a short walk out of the main town centre of Brighton in Kemp Town and was near the sea front. Upon arrival I check in... more

We stayed at the Alvia and from our experience we would go back. The hotel is the best looking on the street and welcoming. The two reception rooms are divided into Breakfast area and reception. Both are clean, modern and both times we had breakfast it was good. The Vegitarian breakfast is a big bowl of fresh fruit with fruit... more

My partner and I stayed here for four days in July 2006. We enjoyed the hotel very much, and Brighton too, having never been here before. Hotel is excellently placed for seafront, shops, Pavillion etc, and the room was clean and well appointed. We stayed in a large contemporary room. Liked it enough to stay an extra night instead of... more
