The hotel is not as shown on the web site, so rather disappointed. Our room was a very basic double with the smallest en suite I have ever seen!! Why they never took the freize off the walls before painting every where yellow seemed a bit strange. Fortunately my sister and husband's room was alot better with a King size... more

On arrival a friendly greeting with a big smile from Elaine makes you feel at home.In the 4 years I have returned to England I have stayed there every weekend for 6 months each year. They have a variety of rooms,singles,doubles,4 poster & "The Suite",which is superior to many "Superior"hotels. All are onsuite, spotless, have TV,tea & coffee making facilities, hairdrier & an... more

Arrived in Brighton without accommodation and TIC recommended this one. We usually like the anonimity of a big chain hotel but this place was great - owners very friendly, location good, round corner from some great restaurants and 10 minute walk from Lanes/Pier etc. We had double four poster garden room which had it's own basement entrance doors to street... more

Next month sees ten years of staying regularly at the Amblecliff. A B&B where rooms, comfort, cleanliness, food and service can not be equaled for the price. A wide selection of accommodation suited to all visitors at all prices. Friendly and truly 'home from home'. Nothing is too much trouble to ensure guest satisfaction. Absolutely no complaints and commendable to... more

We booked the Amblecliff from their website. On arrival we received a warm and friendly greeting. As a family of three we were booked into the 'suite' which was ideal: a double room with a four poster bed and an adjourning single room. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the rooms were nicely furnished and decorated with all the little essentials... more

We have just returned from a lovely weekend in Brighton. I booked the Amblecliff from their website, we looked at staying at a travel lodge or a holiday inn but to be honest their prices were ridiculous as we wanted a room for 3 people for 3 nights. The Amblecliff was very reasonable, everywhere was spotless & the breakfast's were... more

We were greeted at the 'Amblecliff' hotel with great hospitality and the room we were given- namely 'the suite' was superb, extremely comfortable with every amenity imaginable including a very pretty little terrace. The breakfast was beautifully cooked and one of the best we have had with a large choice on the menu. We would recommend this conveniently placed hotel... more

I wanted to stay somewhere a bit better than your average b&b and saw this place and the description and pics looked great but DO NOT BE FOOLED.Its horribly average and if 'attention to detail' means painting over gaffer tape that's holding up the ceiling then well done. Its a bit grubby but on the upside breakfast was good. more

Have just returned from a mother and daughter weekend in Brighton. Stayed at the Amblecliff, not sure what to expect but had a very enjoyable stay. Taxi from the railway station less than £5. Found the place very welcoming. (Ignore the hall carpet, clean but beige and a bit tatty). The staff were really helpful. The room was perfect for... more

The Amblecliff is located a road up from the Brighton seafront in upeer rock gardens! Its a small, sweet little place with very friendly owners who deliver a great and helpful service! Breakfast was excellent. Rooms are a range from double to family and luxury 4 poster. Our room was very clean, light and airy decorated in a very old-school... more
