It was such a surprise to find this hotel with its genuine Medieval theme .My partner and I love History so we took to this place like a duck to water ! It was his birthday so we booked the Taliesen room as a special treat. We had never slept in a 4 poster bed before and it was so... more

We came to the minstrels rest to celebrate our 17th year together, and chose the Taliesin room. As we entered the dining room we felt instantly enchanted by the real medieval theme. Michelle & phil made us feel so welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. It was obvious from the onset that they felt passionate about their Hotel and... more

I stayed here whilst on business during a very hectic week, but as soon as I stepped through the doors I felt completely relaxed. The room was exceptionally clean with lots of extra little touches, that made my stay very pleasant and comfortable. The only annoying thing was the sound of the water pump every time you turned on a... more

We stayed the weekend as a birthday break. The room was outstanding, immaculately maintained and cleaned to the highest standard. The little touches were sincere and well thought out such as the Minstrels Rest branded soaps and even the bill was presented in a handwritten parchment envelope sealed with wax. The themed medieval (I think) ambience works really well. Food... more

First class family run Guest House with personal service from dedicated owners made it a long weekend which is now much talked about. No hesitation in recommending the Perdigon Room to all our firends. Comfortable, well maintained room with many of the little extras often missing from high graded hotels. Nothing was too much trouble for Michelle and Phill -... more

We stayed at the Minstrels Rest for one night and it was lovely. We stayed in the Berdic room which was smaller than we'd expected but was still a very nice room and very cosy. We loved the decor and it couldn't have been cleaner, it was spotless! The room was an ensuite with a shower and toilet which was... more

If you're going to Hastings, stay here. A medieval world awaits you inside. Michelle, Phill and daughter, Kayleigh make you feel ever so welcome. it's not like a B&B, it's so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We stayed in the Berdic room. It wasn't the biggest room we have stayed in but it was the cleanest and most... more

We enjoyed a comfortable night's stay at the Minstrel's Rest and were well looked after by Phill and Michelle Wood. They had thought of everything including a mini fridge with milk, water and juices in it, to go with the kettle and tea and coffee provided. There was a plethora of smellies in the en suite bathroom to test out.... more
