The place is dirty, service really bad, food even worse, and when i complained to the duty maneger he did nothing My husband and i left very angry at how we were treated We run a guest house in Eastbourne, and would never keep a place in this state, or talk to our guest the way we were talked too more

This place was actually recommended but the check in process should have warned me that this was not going to be a great place to stop. The outside looks amazing with its traditional olde world coaching house appearance that I am sure will appeal to foreign visitors. The experience ends there! The room was awful (Room 17) I think in... more

Put my mum up in one of the disabled rooms over the Xmas holiday as it is the only place which actually has disabled rooms in Lewes itself (apart from Pelham House which has one room which is usually booked) Room truly horrible, dark and facing on to the car park in a badly designed 60s block at the back.... more

We spent a most enjoyable weekend at this hotel. The beds were comfy and the rooms (in the old part of the hotel) were delightful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. more

This place ( Hotel ??) has to be seen to be believed this - where to start - reception staff who took delight in being unhelpful - to the point of rudeness, dirty smelly carpets(take slippers), holes in bedlinen, cracked basin/broken surround in bathroom (room 27), blocked sinks, electrics sockets hanging off walls, matresses -well words fail me how desperately... more

We went here last weekend without high hoped after reading your reviews here. Sure enough, no parking. We were in room 61 (meaning they have more than 60 rooms) and there are 30 parking spaces. Their suggestion? You could try the train station and a shrug of the shoulder. The taps in the room wouldn't turn off so we told... more

I've stayed at this hotel for several years' running. I like it because in parts its interior presentation matches its exterior: With makeover television culture, that's all roo rare these days. It still feels like an old coaching inn, especially at the entrance and bar area. With reviews such as many post here, it seems to me unfortunate that these... more

Counter to what the website says or what is said over the phone this hotel does not cater for people in wheelchairs. We phoned months in advance to book a wheelchair accessable room as we were attending a wedding in Lewes, when we arrived the room we were given was op a step, the next room had such a narrow... more

We stayed in this hotel for one night on Saturday 1 August to attend a wedding. When we arrived at 1.30pm the room wasnt available until 2pm and there was no parking spaces in the car park so we had to double park. The room was a twin with a camp bed for the child. The bathroom keeps updating and... more

It's hard to tell when any money was last invested in The White Hart, unless it was the indoor pool and "leisure centre" in a separate building. Our rooms were in the old part of the hotel that dates back to the 16th Century. The bed, decor, bathroom fittings, amenities, lighting, etc. all definitely date back to the middle of... more
