Stayed for 2 nights recently with my partner and were both very impressed by this beautiful old hotel, and Lewes itself. Everything - our room, the food, the staff, the location, the gardens, the decor - was just perfect, faultless in fact. We thought the cost extremely reasonable for accommodation and service of this standard. Words cannot really describe the... More

I stayed for two nights and enjoyed my stay very much. All the staff were very helpful, friendly and pleasant. I arrived early for check in and was given tea and biscuits to refresh me in the sitting room. My room overlooked the High Street and the garden. Amenities first rate & shower was the best I've EVER taken. Could... More

I cannot really find fault with this delightful hotel. Lewes is a lovely place to conduct a bit of retail therapy and the shelleys is the place to chill out after. The building is very old but bang up to date re comfort, hot water etc. the staff were delightful and the food perfect. I've added some pics. I guess... More

We needed a short break and this one night stay had been awarded to make up for a poor experience at another hotel. The Hotel Manager,Dariusz Zvinis, could not have been more helpful and accommodating. We had a large double bedroom, with massive bathroom, at the back of the hotel, overlooking its lovely garden, and very quiet. We had dinner... More

Stayed at hotel with family and friends for our daughters wedding, front of house manager was excellent and nothing was too much trouble, rooms are very elegant, the only problem was the breakfast which was very slow in appearing and two of the waitresses were a bit rude .

Fab place with comfort their priority.Bedroom 19 tip top. Little touches all there to make u feel pampered. Only drawback was slowness of service @ bfast. The meal was superb & of a high standard, esp the porridge, but needs to be quicker yet same quality. Can't wait to stay again.
