Although it looks a bit pricey, it's actually good value, because it's a DBB rate. The hotel has character, it's clean, comfortable, the staff are very helpful and cheerful too. This hotel is comfortable, with nice large beds (although they were two twins together, but had enough linen so it wasn't that obvious), it was nice to be able to open the windows in the room which didn't have air-con. Unusual today a privately owned hotel in a pretty Sussex town and just off the main street. The staff were all friendly, un-hurried and professional at all stages. Pelham House is a very charming hotel with beautiful gardens. However the cheaper rooms (£130 a night) were separated from the hotel by the car park. Took my elderly mother for 2 nights whilst attending Glyndebourne. Best hotel I have stayed at in the area. Very helpful before arrival in organising the correct room for my mother. requested a room with a bath as thought this would ensure we were in the main building, and it worked. Loverly room and huge bathroom with free standing rolltop bath, bathroom bit dated but very nice. paid for the car parking as well and they gave me a days extra free parking as well.
