We were invited to spend time with our friends who had visited some months earlier. They advised us what to expect. We were not disappointed at all. In fact our stay exceeded our expectations. We were bowled over by the charm & friendliness of the hosts Alan & Paul & felt like we were old mates, even though we had... more

It does not take you long to feel at home at Saltcote Place thanks to the highly developped sense of hospitality that Alan and Paul demonstrate. Saltcote Place is a delightful location combining a special historical touch and modern comfort. Alan and Paul had special attentions to our daughter who was celebrating her birthday on the first day. It just... more

Rarely if ever would one find comparable accommodation within the U.K. The rooms/suites are beautufully appointed and the decor throughout is amazing and stuffed with some very interesting and beautiful antiques. The two hosts are an extraordinary double act, smart and funny and their rotweiler Java never looked as if he might eat us (he is apparentluy a vegetarian). Our... more

The reviews are really true!. A unique building and location, refurbished to the highest standards with plenty of character. The owners are wonderful - your comfort and enjoyment is their first priority and nothing is too much trouble. It is the extra thoughtful touches and personal service that make Saltcote very special. We would love to go again more

I was at boarding school at Saltcote Place (1966 - 1970), and my brother was a boarder at Leasam House, a couple of miles away (1965 - 1968). When we discovered that it is now possible to stay at Saltcote, we just had to go for a weekend of nostalgia! What a wonderful experience!! We were made to feel so... more

Do not normally stay in B&B's, but decided to try Saltcote Place based on reviews. Very glad to have done so - the rooms and facilities compare favourably with any luxury boutique hotel, but what really makes the place special is the way Paul and Alan put so much care and attention into ensuring everything was perfect during our stay.... more

For an amazing weekend of luxury, look no further than Saltcote Place. We were lucky enough to stay in the incredibly spacious splendour of the Hennessey suite, which looks out over the rolling fields around Rye. It's a wonderfully relaxing place to be, even without the very generous nightcaps! Alan and Paul made us feel very welcome - they couldn't... more

We were looking for a quiet and relaxing surroundings to celebrate our 10th wedding aniversary. We found it! Very warm welcome with tea on arrival, flowers and chocolates in the room. After a very comfortable nights sleep, you must allow plenty of time for a breakfast you dream of. Fresh fruit, cooked breakfast of your choice, and so much more.... more

We chose Saltcote Place because of the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. I couldnt have imagined a better place to spend our first wedding anniversary. The house - which is beautifully decorated and furnished - is set in amazing grounds just outside the centre of Rye with stunning views over the marshes. Our suite was outstanding,... more
