We stayed here in June, having earlier experience of inferior accommodation in Rye itself. This was a lovely B & B, with comfortable beds, clean and modern bathroom/shower and really well furnished. Our room looked over a lovely garden and fields beyond. The breakfast was very well cooked - far better than in expensive hotels we've been to and there was a great choice of cereals etc. The owners were friendly and guided us to dine at the Playden Oasts hotel/pub 150 yds up the road. A good straight-down-the-wicket eating place with well presented food. Neither the B & B nor the dinner at the pub/hotel were overly expensive. Great value for money and far better than some of the pompous, all-image no-performance expensive hotels. One problem only - the traffic on the main road outside the B & B - though this quietened in the evening and wasn't too intrusive. more
