Situated in the heart of the ancient Cinque Port town of Rye, the White Vine House's origins go back to the 13th century. We offer four double and two family rooms, each individually styled with meticulous attention to details. Flat panel TVs, Wi-Fi, fluffy towels and organic toiletries are only a few of the careful considerations. Come enjoy the friendly, relaxing atmosphere as can only be found at a family-run establishment.

We really enjoyed our overnight stay. Our room was large and warm, with very good firm bed. Everything was very clean and tidy on our arrival and checking in was easy. The breakfast was amazing. A real delight. Staff friendly and helpful.

Beautiful hotel in an amazing location. The bed was incredibly comfortable, great pillows, the room was spotlessly clean. Checking in during the evening was easy, they have a lock box outside for which they sent me a code that day. Our room was on the 2nd floor facing the street but Rye is a very quiet town and we couldn’t hear any noise. The breakfast was amazing…, like seriously out of this world. The only thing to keep in mind is parking. This isn’t a criticism of the hotel at all it’s purely for info purposes. There are numerous parking lots but be wary of parking in , actually make that driving into, the “wish street” car park. We are American, we drove into the car park but we couldn’t get the parking app to download and we decided not to park our rental car. Flash forward 3 weeks… they have cameras at the entrance and exit of the lot. We got hit with a 100GBP fine for spending 11 minutes there. Again this isn’t a reflection of the Whitehouse… it’s so you know where to “not” park.…

Three of us staying in an airnb treated ourselves to breakfast here and we were not disappointed. All freshly cooked and freshly made, the food with a fab display of breads, tarts and pasteries was delicious. Two of us had the full cooked with scrambled/poached eggs and granary sourdough. It was all very well cooked and the third had pancakes with bacon and maple strip. You were spoilt for choice. It just added to our delightful stay in Rye.

The BEST place to eat and stay in Rye. I visited for the weekend with a group of friends, all of our rooms and bathrooms were perfect - extremely clean and comfortable. The food downstairs is heavenly, the menu is excellent, the staff are exceptional and the food was completely delicious, I could not recommend it more highly.

Visiting Rye we fancied an uncomplicated something for lunch. The menu caught our eye at Whitehouse's cafe as we walked past. We loved the atmosphere and contemporary furnishing in a very old interior. Service was friendly, very pleasant and efficient. All three of us chose the Omni dish from the menu and were impressed with how a dish of eggs, sausage, bacon, sourdough toast and tomato could pack such a delicious punch of flavours, and be elevated to exceptional rather than ordinary. Whitehouse cafe seem to have followed the good practice of a small menu executed really well. Will certainly return on our next visit.

I live in Rye but because I’m not as mobile as I once was a trip into town for brunch is a treat, except when taking friends and visitors. I used to head straight for Whitehouse. Today was probably the last time, sadly. I was happy to queue outside and was patient, once seated and having ordered drinks and food, assuming that the kitchen was especially busy. But after about 40 minutes wait, during which time we saw two or three other groups arrive, order, be served, eat their meals and leave we left - hungry, disappointed but wiser. They clearly do not value our custom, and they shan't see it again.

Visited here on the 22/10 for one night. Check in was easy and we were quickly shown to our room. We were on the top floor in a room called Whoopie. The room is spacious with a sofa bed one end and then king size bed with stand alone bath the other. There is no separate shower but the bath does have a shower attachment which was more than adequate. The floorboards are a bit squeaky but for us that added to the charm of the room. The Whitehouse is located in the high street so easy to access Rye and all of its charms. The rate includes breakfast which was excellent and plentiful and all the staff were welcoming and service very good though we had breakfast as soon as the bakery opened at 8.30 am which meant we had a choice of where to sit. We did have an issue with the room but the owners dealt with the matter really well and I would not hesitate to return and try some of the other rooms on our next visit to Rye.…

Excellent Sunday brunch . Very popular , had to queue but worth it even in the rain. Brunch menu very eclectic. Pork and herb sausages particularly tasty ( from Jamie’s butchers near Winchelsea Beach ) service also excellent , very efficient in a very busy environment
