My wife and I stayed here while visiting Rye. From the cobblestone street to the beautiful décor in the house and rooms this was a fantastic place to stay. The staff was friendly and the place just feels comfortable whether in your room or in one of the common areas. If you are looking for romantic England, this is it.

A fantastic period building located on a quiet cobbled street. The majority the street was also of the same period appearance, so you feel like you could step back in time. We figured that if we really wanted to get the feel of Rye we should stay in the heart of it, so we chose Jeakes House half way up Mermaid Street. We didn't regret it! The house is fascinating and the rooms thoughtfully and appropriately furbished. The breakfasts are delicious and Jenny and Richard are charming hosts.
