I tagged a long with my partner during one of his trips to Cheltenham. We stayed in Casa Lapostolle. I find it unique having a room name instead of a room number. We were greeted by people in the reception as we entered and whisked to our room. It was rather confusing going to Casa Lapostolle since you have to... More

My partner booked a surprise two night stay at HDV on May 17th. We had a junior suite room, with twin roll top baths in the bedroom and a walk in monsoon shower in the bathroom. Air con in the room so we could control the room temperature, two TVs; one above the bathtubs, luxury bath robes, DVD player, a... More

Stayed on way to Cornwall for one night - booked a standard room and upgraded via email offer - couldn't tell the room was an upgrade - it was small - with average size bed - a roll top bath at bottom of bed where I'd rather had had a television - far too hot in middle of night and... More

This is a wonderful hotel in a fabulous location, with marvellous rooms, but the staff are woeful, with one or two welcome exceptions. The check in desk seems to be inhabited by the surliest people imaginable, who can't do too little for you. Please don't disturb their no doubt busy day. Breakfast - I recommend you don't bother unless you... More

Having booked in at the Chapter hotel down the road, I found it to be soulless and utilitarian, we ditched our booking on the second night and moved into the hotel du vin instead. (I've stayed elsewhere and loved the chain before) Instantly we were lifted, great greeting, bar staff, dining staff just brilliant. It's a nice place to be,... More

The Hotel du Vin chain offer pretty good consistent experience. This was the first time I have had a double shower as well as two baths in the bathroom of my upgraded bedroom. The chain does start to lack something of the personal touch - eg no comfortable chair in my huge bedroom, no soap dish by the (twin) baths,... More

Stayed here for one night for business and a meeting in march. Lovely hotel however had to park in public car park round the corner as not a lot of parking available at hotel. Beautiful hotel, check in a little busy and could do with a few more staff sometimes! Room was ok but a/c didn't work so had an... More

My partner and I stayed for one night over the recent Chentenham Jazz festival in the recently renovated wing built onto the back of this Georgian terrace. We were greeted by friendly staff, and although we had not pre-booked a spa treatment, were nonetheless offered one in the hotel spa facility. We also had a truly excellent moden room with... More

I stay in this hotel once a month and always enjoy the experience. As a business traveller I'm fussy as a good room and good food are very important to me. The bedrooms are all well furnished and the bar is a great place to relax. Room service menu could have more choice but I enjoy the food.

18 of us stayed and ate at the hotel on Saturday night. Lovely building with excellent public rooms. Lisa on reception was great, with Roberto and James also standing out. My wife had some excellent treatments. Plenty of free parking available. Very clean hotel with comfy beds! Pleasant food. However, the hotel does let itself down in certain areas -... More
