Just off a noisy road with constant traffic buzz. I need earplugs to sleep anyway and managed OK. Asked for quiet room and got one at back away from the busy road end. Usual Travelodge with a Little Chef and Sommerfield store on site. A little distance away from the town itself. Only drawback - sited almost beneath an emormous... more

I only needed a clean, cheap bed for a short overnight stay and at £40 this Travelodge provided that. The rooms are the usual Travelodge basic boxes, clean and with furnishings in good condition and the hotel does not yet appear to have sunk to the level of disrepair that many hotels in this chain have lately. However, it's a... more

Convenient location approx 20 minute walk to town, across two/three roundabouts along a busy road. Room was adequate and served its purpose. Good value at £19 a night for each of the 2 nights we stayed there. Lots pf parking and a useful Somerfield store, garage and Little Chef adjacent to the Lodge. Requested a pillow at 10.15pm and was... more

Firstly I should say that this is not somewhere I would stay for a special occasion or anything but for a clean, comfortable place to sleep it was fine. The room cost us £19 and was in a good position near to the town and with a petrol station nearby with a 24hr shop which was handy. I'd suggest bringing... more

Very basic room with migraine-inducing decor - terracotta/cream walls and dark blue upholstery. TV (only 4 channels) but no radio or phone. The very minimum of everything was supplied: one towel and teabag each, 3 pillows between us, one tiny bar of soap etc. No bath mat first day and the one supplied on the second day was stained. Seemed... more

We stayed here while we celebrated a 50th birthday in the area. We stayed in Room 18. The toilet leaked all over the bathroom floor and the bed, although big, was like a trampoline. We complained about the leaking loo. They put a towel down prior to the maintenance man taking a look. We managed to get one night free... more

We checked in at 3pm which was just as well because we finally settled in to a room at 4pm. The first room on the ground floor was dark and damp-smelling and the centre light was not working. Initially we were told it was the only room available so the choice was to put up with it or go home!... more

Upon arrival the room had two faulty lights, one bedside and the other central. They both flickered constantly. Bedside one replaced but central one we were told could not be done for a couple of days. The room had no towels and no loo paper, no tea and sugar. These were supplied upon request. The shower worked but not well,... more

Needed somewhere for a weekend as attending friends 50th birthday. Stayed Fri/Sat/Sun night. Very clean rooms. You only get a tv and a kettle, no radio alarm, safe, hairdryer (could get one from front desk). Good parking, next to Little Chef make sure you tell them you are staying at the Travelodge to claim your 25% discount off food. Also... more

Having booked 2 nights stay the weekend of 4 August 07 back in March, thought everything was under control - how wrong can you be!!! My family and myself were travelling from Spain for a family wedding. After a 12 hour trip, arriving at the Travel Lodge at 1am (but having phoned the day before to advise of this!), we... more
