On arrival we could not park in the courtyard due to a skip blocking the entrance. We were taken to the room which was awful. The furniture was old and dusty and on further inspection was not clean. You would not have wanted to put anything in the wardrobe. There were no toiletries in the bathroom except for liquid soap.... More

we are a group of 7 friends who booked Townend Cottage at the end of Jan 2011 to stay for a week-end, we found the cottage on inspection had not been cleaned, the bath broken which leaked through to the living room, bed slats missing, shower and toilet not clean, cooker in a mess, generally the house was not been... we arrived and the room we'd been offered was totally gutted and underconstruction so we were given a larger room. although the contruction initially was a turn off we came to love our room and our stay. marilyn was a gratious hostess and apologized for the B&B construction. Family difficulties/poor heath and flood of the town durning the last year... More

Townend Cottage is in a fabulous location, walk to train and all of the village. Mark and Marilyn were very friendly hosts - we arrived on Mark's birthday and were invited to join the celebration. = ) Rooms were clean and the breakfast was generous. Would stay here again. More

We'd requested a room with an en-suite shower and upon arrival were offered a room with a bath - when we demurred she took us to "Tree House", a room with a shower area cramped, stained and dirty and with no hand-towels and a non-functioning extractor fan. The bedroom itself was very dusty and in need of a clean. The... More

3 of us had a very comfortable stay in the cosy and tastefully furnished Clemetis cottage, which is a 17th century house, complete with exposed wooden beams. It is very well maintained, complemented by lots of cupboards, bookselves and even a collection of books and magazines. The ensuite bathroom is enormous, as big as a bedroom in some other hotels/b&b.... More

Two thin pieces of bacon (brittle when cooked), one fried egg,a spoonful of mushrooms and half a tomato to me does not constitute a FULL English breakfast. Where was the sausage, fried bread, black pudding? Juice, toast and cereals provided, but butter in foil packs and minute packets of sugar had to be opened for cereals and tea/coffee. Where were... We stayed here on the first and last day of a circular walking tour in the Cotswolds in May. Townend is at the end of the town's main street, High Street, near the train station direct from London. We stayed in Corner Cottage, a cosy room in the front of an annex building across a quaint courtyard from the main... More
