I have stayed here a number of times before. It's in the centre of Painswick which is an idyllic Cotswold village. The service, food and ambience is what I love about this place. A great retreat after exploring Cheltenham or the local valleys. more

We travel a great deal and spend on average 2 months a year in different hotels in UK and abroad and this has to rate as one of our favourites for atmosphere and relaxation. Everyone of the 9 rooms is "themed" which could be "tacky" but they are all tastefully furnished and decorated. We booked the "Palm Beach" room (all... more

Stayed over new year, perfect from start to finish-over new years. Breakfasts are perfect and they give too much food! Coffee could have done with being fresher, maybe that can be sorted, I was too tired to say. Room amazing, we have stayed before and it was as every beautiful. They have also added a new LCD TV which is... more

We just returned from the UK spending nights in London, Wales, and Yorkshire for a total of 8 different B&B's. This was our favorite. The room (Dovecote) was beautiful and huge, exactly like the photo. The structure is extremely old but the furnishings, although an antique style decor, were fresh and unworn. The mattress was great (many B&B mattresses seem... more

We spend one night here and have mixed feelings. The location is good and the staff friendly and helpful. Our room, Dovecote was lovely, very quaint but it was a bit cold, even will the heating on. Part of the problem was the broken window in the bathroom, fixing this would make a big difference. The bed was very high... more

Don't takeany notice of the rubbish written on here by some very petty and picky people! We stayed two nights in the pool room at Cardynham House and it was just great. Yes ok its not a four star Hilton, so if thats your thing then dont bother going here, but if you want a unique room in a unique... more

Noisy pipes, loo seat doesn't stay up, can't get the free wireless to work, but what the hell, I still love this place and will come again. Warm, cosy, comfortable, character, late arrival is OK, and quite cheap - why would someone stay at a Travel Inn when there are places like this? It's a little gem. more
