Excellent small and friendly in a good location with loevely food. We stayed here for one night prior to going on to visit Highgrove this was well placed within a lovely village. Very well placed next to a local pub prior to a meal in the Bistro which was was very good and a very reasonable price The room number... More

Stayed at the Cardynham house for two nights. Nice room overlooking street, four poster bed and nice but small bathroom. The meals in the hotel were good and tasty. Painswick is in a good location for walking and exploring the area. Painswick itself is a lovely quiet, Quaint and picturesque small town. The only down side is the parking in the... More

I stayed at the Cardynham house hotel in March for a short break, the hotel dates back to 16th century and is quaint . Our room was on the upper floor with sloping ceilings a 4poster bed and small windows. Unfortunately the weather was not good but the room was nice and warm. On the first night we ate in... More

We recently stayed at the Cardynham House Hotel in Painswick. It is in a lovely little town but it is very very quiet. The hotel itself was very good though, room was fine, the shower room was cramped but just about manageable. The breakfast has to be ordered the previous evening, but was excellent, just what you need to start... More

When I called up to book this two night stay we weren't told which room we'd have and upon arrival were put in the Arabian nights room which had NO windows, NO natural light and was pokey with deep, dark burgundy walls- just what you want on a spring weekend with bright blue skies outside... Besides the woman who works... More

The reviewer booked directly with us and at the time of booking was told that the only room available was our "Arabian Nights" room, the room in question. We referred her to our website where exact details of each of our rooms are set out along with room photo's and urged that she was sure that the room was acceptable.... More

We stayed two nights at Cardynham House for a couple of days walking. Centrally placed in the village of Painswick the building is typically Olde Cotswold with many nooks and crannies. The rooms are clean if a little small and quirky. It was however, like the Marie Celeste, as the only time we ever saw staff was at breakfast. On... More

We stayed here for a night over a friend’s birthday weekend in the village. We were so lucky to be in Room 5 which not only had 2 twin beds but also a beautiful four poster bed which was incredibly comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and informative and were kind enough to serve us our tasty breakfasts a little... More

We stayed in one of the dovecotes at the top floor. Building is very nice and the room feels like as if it jumped out of a scene from a fairy tale. Except the odd, disturbing smell, especially around the canopy of the bed, all was good. Nice decoration, lots of space, lots of character. One hard to ignore negative... More

We stayed in the Old Tuscany room at Cardynham house for a short break. What a fabulous place! We arrived after a bit of a disasterous journey (dead satnav, no map!) and it wasn't the easiest place to find but once we got there we couldnt have enjoyed ourselves more! We were shown where to park and then to our... More

We stayed at Cardynham house for 1 night during Easter and had a pleasant stay. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was good too. The room we stayed in was a bit small (it was the one for £90 a night) and the pressure in the shower wasn't that good. Also the parking is restricted in the... More
