This was our first trip to England, nevermind the Cotswolds. We arrived at Stow-on-the-Wold by bus and didn't realize how lost we were going to be without a rental car. The owner of the tea shop where we ate sorted us out by having his friend drive us to the hotel. We were early. The young lady at reception was... more

This is for sure not a four star hotel! The service is poor and choatic. To give you a few examples, the moment we entered the bar (no other guests) the barman walked off. We waited for 10mins and no one appreared. Tables were left full of empty plates and glasses. No eye for detail by the staff or management... more

My husband booked 4 nights at Wyck Hill House four our first wedding anniversary. I have to admit I was extremely nervous about the break as I had been checking out reviews for the hotel several months before we went. We arrived on Sunday 31st August and we were immediately impressed with the entrance and exterior of the hotel. We... more

The hotel is extremely welcoming. I stayed there with 4 adults and 3 very young children including a 5 week old baby. During our 2-night stay I cannot think of anything that was disappointing about the hotel. The 2 rooms we booked were clean, an excellent size and it was very quiet. There was scaffolding outside the window but as... more

It's hard to know where to begin to write this review. Despite all the complaints on this site, the hotel is still performing well below 3 star standard let alone 4. I stayed for 2 nights (Wed & Thurs) and got a great deal of £128 for a room including breakfast. The apporach to the hotel was amazing and the... more

Booking a bank holiday weekend last minute is always risky business. We certainly arrived at the hotel with eyes wide open after some of the Trip Advisor comments. On checking in the two people in front of us were complaining, wrong key to the room and a messy room. The fire alarm sounded soon after and a quick evacuation followed.... more

We have just returned from a stay at the Wyck Hill Hotel in the Cotswolds. After booking the 4 star hotel through last minute.com we were looking forward to an enjoyable stay in the Heart of the Cotswolds. We arrived at 2:15pm and although check-in is at 3pm, we thought that it might be possible to access our room a... more

It is hard to know where to start but I think you can sum up most of the problems as starting from the fact that this hotel appears to be run on a shoe strring - it is supposed to be a four star hotel but at best is currently performing as a 3 star. There is nowhere near enough... more

Had booked a Suite B&B (563 GBP) - Upon arrival we were allocated room 11. A large single space, very sparsely furnished and clinical. Interestingly, the bathroom only had one tiny washbasin? The scaffolds outside the windows obscured the view. A complimentary bottle of wine was offered by way of recompense. Returned to reception to ask for a "Suite" (ie... more
