Recently stayed here with a group of friends on a weekend golf trip. Thought the rate for Dinner Bed & Breakfast was extremely good for this part of the world. was a bit worried that the food might not be up to much as you simply describe it as 'pub food' on your web site. No problem as it turned... More

Second visit to this hotel. We had a room that was not on the main road this time and it was nice and quiet, and it had a four poster bed. The manager and staff were again very helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were again hearty in size and offered a good selection. If you want to stay in an oldie worldie full... More

This was a charming, old hotel that was typical of the Cotswold architectural style. It had a warm and cozy feel to it, especially the restaurant/bar which we just loved. The food was excellent too....the best we had in the Cotswold region. The decor was perfect for the old rooms...traditional and homey. The staff was very helpful and the service... More

The Unicorn is an old lady 1642 i believe so a touch of paint here and there. The good bit is the Olde Worlde charm .Wonderful friendly and helpful staff, great food and facilities plus being well located. Now to some the location on the corner of the A429 Fosse which is a busy road could be a problem. Our room was right... Thanks for your review and the secondary glazing does do a pretty good job of cutting most of the noise from the old Roman road opposite. Hope you can return Kind regards Chris Martin More

My husband and I enjoyed our 2 day stay here and parking was very convenient. The staff were very helpful and replaced our broken kettle immediately we realised it wasn't working! Lovely sitting areas in which to relax and read the papers. We would highly recommend this hotel to others. Stow in the Wold is not far from anywhere in... More

We do try to please all our guests and a hire car is a good idea although most of the attractions in The Cotswolds are within a 15 minute drive. Thank you for your kind words about the staff All the best Chris Martin More

Stayed 2 nights over Bank holiday great location lovely olde world hotel, but it does need a bit of attention to things like painting and silicon in bedrooms and bathroom things that can't be blamed on the age of the hotel. We stayed in room 8 very noisy because its right on the crossroads Lorrys stopping at traffic lights all night.this... More

I do appreciate your review The decor of the rooms is old fashioned but that is reflected in the price which is £95 including full English breakfast for 2 people for a superior room in the heart of the Cotswolds in the summer . The difference between the superiors and standard rooms is mainly size in that the superiors are... More

The hotel was lovely and the food great, but the service from behind the bar was disgusting! The beer on tap was of very poor standard and the cellar management is at a very poor level. The bar men could do with going on a customer service course because of there lack of it! Overall a nice stay, but would... More

It is also rather "sad" that you felt the need to write such negative comments when all you had to do was to ask for a different real ale if you were not happy with your beer. I have never had a negative comment about the real ale in the nine years I have been General Manager here. I must... More

Spent two nights at The Unicorn. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff, comfortable, clean and characterful room and good choice of menu for breakfast and dinner. The three dogs were made welcome and permitted in the bar and there is a good circular walk around the hotel well served with poo bins. All in all a most enjoyable stay in a... More

I do appreciate your review and yes we are all dog lovers here so four legged friends are very welcome as well. I do see that a few people do mention road noise but 90% of it should be cut out if you make sure that the secondary glazing is slid closed. I do look forward to welcoming the 5... More

We stayed for three nights and enjoyed wonderful hospitality - staff efficient, welcoming and friendly, food delicious, and room cosy and comfortable. As an old coaching inn the hotel has a lovely atmosphere. We would definitely recommend it and hope to return.
