I stayed at the Imperial with my wife and four friends on Saturday 16th August 2008. We occupied rooms 105, 106 & 107 which are situated directly below, what we understand to be the owner’s accommodation. Throughout the night of our stay the noise from the upstairs accommodation was wholly unacceptable. The noise was not just normal activity but excessive... more

If you fancy a ringside seat to all manner of nocturnal noise & drunkeness then the Imperial Inn in Stroud is for you. We (and the rest of the hotel by all accounts) were woken at 1am by what sounded like someone trying to force their way into the hotel with a battering ram. It turned out to be one... more

Arrived at the Hotel, Couldn't get a parking space limited number of spaces ended up having to put a ticket on my car to park in the railway station car park to avoid getting a ticket. Reception is as in a previous review at the end of the bar. Stairs and hall ways very tired looking carpets well worn, on... more

My second visit to the Imperial and what a difference. The room was the best and the food great. The staff too were very helpful. Was not distrubed by sounds in the night, though I stayed over the bank holiday weekend. Probably because I had done so much walking during the day. Would come again and again. It does require... more

Unbelievably noisy at night. Even with the single-glazed sash windows tightly shut I could hear a loud transformer buzzing like an angry mosquito, air-conditioning units blowing and local drunks shouting to each other every night. Ill-fitting blinds meant the interior of my room was clearly visible from surrounding accommodation in the evenings. One memorable morning no staff turned up to... more

Friends and family stayed in this hotel recently as I had arranged my parents' suprise Ruby Wedding Anniversary 5 mins walk away and recommended this site to them. It was shambolic from start to finish. The bookings were wrong, one room was the size of a toilet and the other had water dripping down the walls over the electric socket.... more

Very disappointed ,wallpaper coming off.cracks in bedroom wall, unsafe electrics.Staircase carpet threadbear and dangerous. Some staff unable to understand english which made things worse.Fire escape blocked by armchair. We were unable to sleep on Saturday night due to noise from locals waiting for taxis and fighting .Police where outside several times during the night trying to control the fighting. What... more

Stayed here on business. THe hotel is being refurbished and would recommend asking for a room that has been done. The room was large and comfortable, bathroom was very clinical but functional. The windows all have wooden blinds to cover them which means the room is never dark with light straeming in from outside. The food was very good value... more

Room and bathroom spacious, new and spotlessly clean. Staff welcoming. I was a little surprised to pay on arrival as this is not the norm in most hotels that I stay at - perhaps they have had problems. Full English breakfast very good. There was one major disappointment - noise from the surrounding night clubs as clients sought taxis from... more

The hotel is very convieniently located has excellent Thai and English Food, the rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable and the staff is highly courteous and strongly believe in going out of their way to make your stay memorable. Service with a smile in the true sense of the word was experienced here. I don't know whether I would... more
