The room and bathroom need a bit of renovation and was directly above the pub resulting in a very noisy night. The bathroom was quite spacious but the room a bit small. The meal and breakfast we enjoyed at the inn were good.

Paid £99 for a superior double on a DBB deal. Asked for - and was given - a large, quiet room with a view. And what a view from third-floor 'Castle' room: directly onto the Cotswold Hills. Room was clean and tidy with matching period furniture. Bathroom was small, however, but adequate, with plenty of hot water and a good... More

The White hart is located in a very old and charming building. As with many old inns, the stairs are steep and narrow in places and sound travels between rooms. The bedrooms and bathrooms are not spacious, but the bed was comfortable and this is a good place for those walking the Cotswold Way, it is on the route in... More

Winchcombe is well known for its excellent selection of restaurants but the public are quick to spot a bargain! The White Hart was bustling when we walked in but we were soon offered a choice of two tables. We elected to go with the set 2 course 'week day special ' at only £9.95 and we were not dissapointed. We both... More

Having stayed at the White Hart on the Monday of Cheltenham Festival week, I returned with my partner. We wanted to stay somewhere near at hand to a local trainer the night before early morning gallops. Winchcombe is perfectly placed to access the Cotswolds and the White Hart again delivered an excellent experience. The room we had was spacious and... More

I would certainly make a return trip to this lovely old inn that has been sympathetically but simply restored and is well maintained. Winchcombe is a typical Cotswold Village, but I got the impression that it is a proper working village rather than simply a tourist village. There are small shops and restaurants and a castle (which we didn't visit)... More

Stayed just 1 night on bed, breakfast & 3 course dinner for a bargain £74. Rooms are comfortable, nice big beds with soft pillows and duvets. Rooms are large with TV and en-suite. Dinner was really good considering the all inclusive prices, there are some dishes that you pay a supplement on- All Steak dishes, mixed grill with either £3... More

We stayed as a group - everyone happy with their rooms. Good selection of cask ales, and dinners that more than satisfied. Easy and relaxed atmosphere. Staff attentive. Only criticism was that breakfast coffee be readily available for refill.

We stayed one night at The White Hart Inn, the staff were very nice and the food was excellent (we had both dinner and breakfast there). We stayed in the twin room with shared bathroom facilities which was very clean and comfortable. The only downside was because it is an older property at night time you could every movement from... A quaint pub with rooms, which is trying its best to become a 'better' designation. Good location in the high street, but with limited on site parking. Accommodating staff who try to please. Room was adequate, clean but unfortunately due to a very cold spell, not for the faint hearted; especially the bathroom. Additional heating facilities were available without need... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Eat, drink and flop in historic Winchcombe. To some it's a pub, others a hotel. Situated at the heart of the village of Winchcombe near Cheltenham, this ‘restaurant with rooms’ (there are 11) offers the very best of British food and an excellent wine list. Visit the wine shop and try the famous sausages in the Wine & Sausage eating rooms. A perfect place to visit or stay if you love walking or visiting Cheltenham races. Each of the 8 en-suite rooms are individually styled and some have feature beds. In the Wine & Sausage eating rooms located on the inns ground floor they are passionate about real food, the great and simple British dishes that we grew up with. Ingredients are carefully sourced and wherever possible use local and regional farmers, growers, fishermen, producers, brewers and even winemakers. Just a few metres away from the inn you will find the scenic Cotswold Way and Gloucestershire Way footpaths. The Inn is also very popular with cyclists and can help with routes around the area, especially via one or two other 'watering holes'. There's even a hosepipe for washing down muddy bikes. Winchcombe is an idyllic base for touring the Cotswolds and the White Hart is the perfect bolt hole close to the famous sporting and cultural festival town of Cheltenham. ... more   less
