Having spent three hours travelling to the site, pitching our tent in a "tents only" area. We were told to leave, although we pointed out the sign, they took it away stating it should not be there. Was getting late, so upset, never go back.

Being a group of seasoned international campers whom love getting together and sleeping under the stars, we have one piece of advice for New Forest campers, don’t go. We left after not spending the night. Rules on entry quite severe and then Rangers with more rules announcing ‘we have a problem here’ through his walky-talky... We all left unhappy not... More

This camp site is adequate enough however it is rather near a main road and you can hear the road noise (although it is more of a background hum which you do get used to). There is only one block of toilets and NO wash rooms either so very basic facilities. Campers are also not allowed to camp past a... More

Spent 3 nights camping at Ocknell, plenty of room first night but got evaded by saturday guess it was bank holiday , no shower blocks which we knew about but you can use at longbeach, lots of noise from duel carriage way, the surroundings and wildlife make up for that. went off on so lovely walks through the heathland with... Spent two nights camping at Ocknell. Tis a lovely campsite with gorgeous surroundings (if you are in a tent) I would suggest that you take screw pegs or something that can get through concrete/hardcore! No shower but baby wipes are good enough! Overall really pleasant stay with nice friendly staff and super clean toilets.

Spent two nights at Ocknell and was very pleased with the site. Plenty of room amongst the trees for fairly secluded camping. The site is right in the much quieter north side of the New Forest but you can hear the noise of the A27 at night. There's no showers but the toilet blocks are impeccably clean and lack of... More

The campsite is basic but beautiful and the staff are friendly but firm. We stayed two nights over the May/June bank holiday. Our first night was marred by a group of loud and drunken people who broke the rules by being very loud and foulmouthed until well after 2 am. I was surprised that nobody complained to them but given... More

I have stayed at Longbeech twice this year and really enjoyed this beautiful tranquil setting where the forest animals come and graze amongst the campers. You can head off through the woods and glades from every direction, discovering peaceful clearings where you can find a fallen tree to sit on and just enjoy the quiet surroundings The two wardens based on... We stayed at Ocknell as a group of 10 initially as it was the only campsite that would have groups over the bank holiday weekend. But what a brillaint choice!! We paid a little extra and booked well in advanced and managed to secure an area out of the way so as not to annoy too many people. When we... More

Having nothing to compare it to, other than friends advice and online reviews, we have just come back from a weekend camping break at Ocknell. I loved camping, and Ocknell really will take you back to basics, there is only a toilet block and washing up facilities. No showers, and as we pitched in quite a way from them, a... More
