After seeing this adorable place on Trip Advisor, I booked two rooms for my family--we were leaving on a cruise out of Southampton the next day. Malcolm offered us an excellent rate on the rooms, and great directions for spending our free day in Southampton and Winchester. The room we stayed in could be best described as Princess Modern--very tasteful... more

I booked the Blue Keys based on Trip Advisor. I later found out that my parents had stayed there when they cruised out of Southampton last fall. They, too, loved the hotel! It is an older 3 story home that has been converted into the 10 room hotel. The small restaurant and pub are located on the first floor, with... more

This is a small inn that I found just "okay." I needed an overnight stay before a QM2 cruise to NYC, and saw this was rated #1 on TripAdvisor. So I went for it. The location kind of stinks if you are arriving by train: you will require a taxi, but they may not want to take you because it's... more

We booked this hotel lastminute as we have 4 month old twins, we needed somewhere that didn't feel formal so when we put the kids to bed, armed with our babylistening device, we could chill and feel like we were in a comfy pub, this place was just the ticket. We stayed three nights and the bar had live music... more

We stayed here for a weekend away treat, visiting the local theatre for a show. Since we were going out early the chef offered to do us an early supper, we were able to order before the restaurant officially opened at 6 and be in a cab by 7pm. Lovely supper, tasty and well presented. When we got back at... more

I booked this hotel after all of the good reviews on this website. I was unfortunately a little disappointed. The room I stayed in was noisy, with a bathroom directly above. When the person above me ran a bath I felt like it was standing in the middle of my room. I also found the food and breakfast below average.... more

The Blue Keys is a lovely quiet small hotel within easy reach of the docks. The rooms are well decorated, comfy beds, tv, modern bathroom. The bar and restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. Staff very helpful and friendly. Only had two complaints. 1, The food in the restaurant was very average both at dinner and breakfast. 2. We were allocated... more

I went down to Southampton for the August long weekend with 3 friends. We'd made a booking over the internet with another hotel. When we got there, they had no record of our booking. We were rather panicked and quickly found out that every hotel in Southampton was booked out. After two very frustrating hours (and many phonecalls) a friend... more

We stayed on a Saturday night in July and were very impressed with the accommodation, service and value. The hotel has around 14 rooms and in some ways it's a cross between a high class B&B and a boutique hotel. The room was modern, airy and clean. The ensuite consisted of a good size shower room with toilet and sink.... more
