A perfectly charming inn. Pub below and rooms above. To find registration, you go through the pub, but the staff is more than helpful in every way to get your settled. Even though our room was on the street and directly above the pub, it was quiet at night. The pub was right out of the guidebooks with two fireplaces,... more

Very comfortable room which didn't try to be modern but was elegant at the same time. In annex with view over small courtyard. Great location just near cathedral and place where Jane Austen died. Good choice at breakfast but wish they wouldn't bring toast so early on so it gets cold!! more

The Wykeham Arms is obviously a pub that has guest accommodation as an added extra. the room itself was adequate but could have done with some upkeeping maintenance. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast room was quaint and atmospheric with a decent breakfast. How would I sum up staying here; it was okay but for £95.00 overpriced. I could... more

This quirky, old fashioned Inn is beautifully situated in Winchester - I didn't have a car, and the central location is ideal. I stayed in the annexe across the road, and had a large room with large bathroom overlooking a rear courtyard, so quiet and comfortable, apart from the appallingly squeaky floor in the room above, which I guess comes... more

Having driven 2 hours to visit Winchester and having been told that the food was good at this place, after finding parking (not near) and getting to the pub (at 1.30pm) we were hungry and looking forward to eating at this pub - only to be greeted with a sign at the door - "We do not accept children under... more

What a great pub and a wonderful room to stay in! I loved it. That's it, I'm not telling you any more...or it'll be booked up for when I want to go again. Even though we were late for breakfast the chef still cooked for us. How very very nice of him. more

The room was clean, comfortable and pleasant and the building was quaint. The bedrooms are tiny as is typical in historical Britain, and the bathrooms make clever use of the vanishingly small space. People who complain about small rooms and baths really should stay in modern hotels and eat at MacDonalds. None of these old village buildings were designed with... more

This is a very old and fascinating building in a lovely town. However I was disappointed in the size of the room, which was actually in a building over the road from the hotel itself. I am very slight so managed for two nights. A larger person or one with more than a very small suitcase would struggle in this... more

My wife and I visited Winchester and chose the Wykeham Arms from recommendations in the Good Ber Guide, Good Pub Guide and from tripadvisor. It is a beautiful ramshackled inn delivering a fantastic package of accommodation, food and a tremendous bar. Clearly popular with locals it was heaving on a Monday night. Our room was pleasantly decorated although the bathroom... more

Shocking: the owners were rude, pompous and arrogant. The food is over-priced, the staff apparently underfed and the patrons a danger to themselves and others. Even upon alighting from my vehicle, I was leapt upon and subjected to a veritable tirade of accusations that I've scarce seen the likes of! It was some time before I'd sufficiently convinced them of... more
