Stayed for one night including dinner. Comtes de Champagne double aspect room on the NE corner of the hotel - large room, bath in the middle, excellent shower in the bathroom, a real 6ft bed as opposed to two beds put together, lots of cupboard space, acceptable lighting levels and a decent sized safe at head level compared to so... Great location for exploring Winchester, very well presented rooms, however, there is a bit of a 'but' with this review. I would sum it up by saying the hotel staff need to remember that they are there for the guests rather than seeing the guests as getting in the way of the smooth running of the hotel. Guests seem to... More

We stayed for a couple of nights in a Deluxe Room. I would recommend the hotel for it's friendly staff, beautiful well stocked rooms and it's overall cosy and calm ambience. We did not actually eat in hotel, apart from breakfast, although the restaurant seemed very busy. Winchester is such a beautiful city to explore and this is a great... More

Good location to walk around Winchester but also drive around Hampshire. Easy to find, park, walk to station or Cathedral. Rooms are well presented, good bathrooms and nice decor, no drab english country hotel interiors here. Great buffet breakfast, popular sunday Brunch (must book)and good dinners. Wine list is good best thing is the ability to try several different glasses... More

This review is about my experience eating at the Bistro, not staying at the hotel... The majority of the staff were very unfriendly, some bordered on rude. They came across as very condescending and pompous, not a great attitude to portray. They were also not trained very well on how to clear tables, at one point one of the waitresses... More

I stayed at the hotel du Vin, Winchester for a long weekend with family. It ticked all the boxes for the generations; extremely comfortable rooms (delux double & delux twins) with lovely views onto the pretty courtyard below, close walking distance from everything we wanted to visit, varietyof food options, efficient without being stuffy. Easy check in with warm welcoming... More

The best thing about this hotel is the staff. Everyone was absolutely great - we had a newborn baby with us and they couldn't have helped more (from giving us a place in the dining room where we could have the pushchair to placing bottle milk in the main chiller). The staff definitely made the difference to our stay. The... More

We stayed here last night for 1 night and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I know some of the bedrooms have dark colourways, but we had a delightfully light room and beautiful bathroom with monsoon shower. The toiletries are by Miller Harris and very generous. Everything about the room was perfect incl April magazine copies of House and Home, Traveller, Decanter,... More

We stayed for a romantic weekend. The hotel is lovely with very nicely appointed bedrooms (we had the one up from basic). The staff were helpful and friendly. We dined there on one night and the food was very good if a little pricey, our bar bill was somewhat of a shock! Excellent location for exploring Winchester.

What a building, What a position. Fantastic public rooms, dining room, bar & bedrooms. Good parking. Right in the center of town. They need to get a grip on the food which is just not 'up to speed'. Front of house staff terrific as were nearly all others we encountered. Once again it's the kitchen which is the big disappointment... More
