Stayed here on the Sunday night "spend £75 in the bistro and stay for £10" offer. Food great (although spent double the £75 required). Paid extra to upgrade to a superior room but the room was on the small side and the bathroom could have done with a little tlc. Staff very friendly and attentive. more

First, the bottom-line: £200pn for a Garden room w/o breakfast. Stayed 2 nights over weekend. Room: Needs work HDV. Its not worth £200pn by current standards. This is the third HdV we have stayed at and we were disappointed. Our room was large but we felt there was something missing, there was easily enough room for a sofa but instead there was a large empty space. The floor was carpeted but the floorboards creaked so noisily in every part of the room that it annoyed us.... more

I have stayed at the hotel several times over the past year and value its convenient location. The downside is the noise from the road which I could hear from every room I have stayed in but is particularly bad at the front. Some of the staff are very helpful but some are not. Very nice hotel, rooms named after Champagnes, we were in the Veuve Clicquot room (which by coincidence is Madam's favourite) but it was on the road side and we like to sleep with the window open so if you want a quiet room or sleep with the window open then ask for a room at the back.
