Charming B&B in WInchester. Room was lovely. Staff was very helpful and nice, breakfast was simply WONDERFUL. Room was located overlooking an outdoor patio, but no trouble with noise. Very close to cathedral and shops. Restaurant was very good for lunch as well. more

The Old Vine is a c. 15th Century Inn that has been recently refurbished. I have been staying there on and off for the past six months (about 30 nights so far). They have 5 rooms all decorated using materials from big name dinners. The rooms are unique and include one with two double beds! Breakfast is included and is... more

Stayed here for one night and couldn't agree more with other reviewers. We got one of the smaller rooms, but nonetheless it was nicely decorated and it's the small things that make a big difference. Complimentary soft drinks in the mini bar, together with fresh milk for tea & coffee, lovely soft towels/bath robes, a TV with freeview that actually... more

I recomend this very highly. Friendly welcome despite our arriving at a busy time. Lovely twin toom for myself and my daughter, very clean, huge comfy beds, big and warm bathroom. Very delicious chocolates in the room. The restaurant downstairs is good, although the food was not as seasonal as I had expected. Nice breakfast brought to the room -... more

sumptuous suite in the eaves of the property overlooking the catherdral, a real find and luxurious treat for a celebration. The staff even made the most delicious fresh gammon and cheese sandwich as I had an early start and missed breakfast, but apparently breakfast in bed was wonderful. Very comfy bed, lots of room, perhaps the tv should have been... more

We stayed in the Old Vine for a night mid week and very much enjoyed it. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, the rooms were beautifully decorated and the bed comfortable. It was nice not having to get dressed and go downstairs for breakfast as it was delivered to your room exactly on time that we had asked. We... more

The Old Vine is a fabulous place to stay. The position alone is enough to warrant five stars, never mind the great service we received. We booked the top suite, because it had views of the cathedral. It was a fair climb up the stairs, but well worth it. The rooms were really nicely decorated, very tasteful indeed. The breakfast... more

My girlfriend and I stayed on a Saturday night in the Nina Campbell room, we were told that this was one of their standard rooms, I disagree! The room was stunning, with an elegance and luxurious charm that any top london hotel would be jealous of. After having a couple of drinks in the buzzing bar, we had a three... more

We stayed at the Old Vine as we wanted a Saturday night away in a cosy town near London and Winchester seemed to fit the bill. We chose the Old Vine solely on the basis of the excellent tripadvisor reviews as well as the Old Vine website. Overall I'd say we made a good choice. The location couldn't be better... more

Just returned from a 1 night stay at the Old Vine in Winchester. We opted for a standard room for £120 (superior room would have been £140 for a larger room with a sofa and a view of the cathedral). The location is fantastic as you are right on The Square, with the cathedral in front of the B&B/Pub/Restaurant. It... more
