Having had to travel to Hereford frequently on business for the last six months, one of the most pleasurable part of my stays was when I was able to get a room at the Somerville House and partake of their excellent breakfasts--kippers, scrambled eggs with cheddar, or wonderful homemade porridge. Their accommodation is also excellent--clearly the best in its price... more

Stayed at Somerville House 16/17th October. From arriving, they were very attentive without being intrusive. An excellent room with very comfy bed and loads of storage space. All the details you would expect from a AA five star rating; in room tea/coffee service, mini-bar, freeview TV, etc. Wonderful view of Hereford can be got from room #9. more

We arrived at 9PM from the train station (very close by, walkable but we took a taxi since it was dark out, 3 pounds) not knowing what to expect. What a treat to be dropped off at this beautiful, stately mansion. The owners have taken every oppportunity to pamper you -- the rooms are beautifully decorated, crispy clean, including the... more

Elegant, painstakingly furnished and maintained, Somerville House sets the standard by which all other b&bs should be judged. A 12-bed Edwardian villa, fairly convenient for the town centre and run by Bill and Rosie who learned how to run a succerssful b&b in York. Among the neat touches which strangers to the area will appreciate is a book of local... more

This is a beautiful house with well decorated rooms and very friendly owners. We took my parents in law here for a short break as they haven't been well - they stayed in room 10 on the ground floor which has a huge window overlooking the garden so it actually feels like you are in the garden and they thought... more

I stayed here for the duration of a contract lasting from 2nd February to 31st March 2009. My first impressions of Somerville House were that it was outstanding. The owners of the bed & breakfast were very approachable, friendly and hospitable. They also provided a delicious breakfast every morning with much of the ingredients sourced locally. I received a complimentary... more

This is the best B&B I have ever stayed in. We stayed in a standard room which had plenty of space, and a lovely view over the garden and city - including the cathedral. The room was very nicely decorated and furnished; and very comfortable. The Herefordshire products mini-bar was great. Breakfasts were also great - lots of choice and... more

When we go away, we always choose a hotel over a B&B/guest house, usually because we like our space and privacy and we don't tend to associate either of these things with staying in a B&B. When we got the chance to go to Hereford to meet up with friends, we had a look at the hotels in the area,... more

This is very good place to stay. Lovely big room and bathroom with free standing bath and seperate shower. Huge fluffy white towels. Although our room faced the road we could not hear the traffic- it was very quiet. The wholeplace is spotlessly clean, very good breakfast and only 15 mins walking time from the city centre. We did not know... more

Booked in for a 1 night stay and wish it was for longer. I was in room 10 which has a great view of the rear garden and is on the easily accessible ground floor. Decor throughout is very tastefully done and very modern - none of the 70's flowery wallpaper and bed linen normally found in B&B's! You could... more
