We booked last minute and stayed for 1 night in the chestnut lodge on the advice of a member of the hotel reception staff at the time of booking. The 'room' (Forsythia - room 83) comprised of a large bedroom, walk in wardrobe, and generous bathroom - the space was more than adequate for 2 adults and a lively 3... more

A pleasant stay in a beautiful setting. Excellent staff and well managed family business. Made to feel so welcome and I really do mean that. Bedroom a little dated but word is there has been some major refurbishment. Mary Restaurant and food first class, in fact world class. Service second to none. Wine a little pricy but all worth it.... more

I stayed here one night last week. It really is a beautiful building in a very nice setting. My room was comfortable, with an excellent shower in the bathroom. The staff are very friendly and attentive. My evening meal was particularly enjoyable, if not exactly on the large side. I look forward to my next stay here... more

We want to say thank you to all the West Lodge Park team for making our weekend stay so nice and lovely! Me and my friend travelled to London for the weekend for a nice break and some shopping it was fabulous. We had a warm welcome when we arrived and the reception team was so professional. The room was... more

I travelled down with my wife and kids to visit family in the area over the Christmas period and I have to say I was very impressed. The hotel was a welcome sight after making the long drive down from Scotland, from the grandeur of seeing the hotel lit up as you come up the front drive, to the warm... more

My husband and i have just returned from a lovely stay at the West Lodge Park hotel. We booked with a Virgin experience voucher and were upgraded to the Chestnut lodge. The room was nice with a comfy bed, big bath and walk in shower. It was also nice and quiet being away from the main building. We asked if... more

The staff here were very friendly indeed and very helpful. Food was decent but overpriced i.e £15 for breakfast. And £7.50 for a large rose with dinner... Also somewhat dismayed that chips seemed to have been shoved back in the deep fryer to reheat. However the bed was dismal - so bad I had to sleep on the floor. Also... more

We are deeply sorry that our guest found the bed so uncomfortable - we are replacing every single bed at the hotel in a rolling programme which will be completed by next year. The new beds are Hypnos pocket sprung beds, reputedly the most comfortable beds in the world. West Lodge Park is having another £400'000 spent this year, with...

Stayed for one night on business. The room was the biggest I've ever stayed in (and I'm in around ten hotels a month). Although their were a couple of small things that needed updating, I'd definitely stay again. I ordered room service and both the service and the food was excellent. I understand the hotel is under going some updating... more

I was very disappointed with the west lodge park. I was given the Jade room (room 20) and it was like a sauna. The heat was unbearable. Now I know what the fan was for!!! If not for the heat, it may have been ok - the decor is on the shabby side, the bed was ok but the pillows... more

I am so deeply sorry that some of our Trip Advisor reviewers have been disappointed with their stays at West Lodge Park. I can faithfully promise all our Trip advisor friends that we take every comment seriously and deal promptly with any issues that arise. During 2007 we have invested over £350'000 in upgrades at the hotel, and plan similar...
