We booked an overnight stay here, so we could visit friends in nearby Ware. There seems to be a dearth of reasonably priced" nice" accommodation in this area, so booked this as the "best of the bunch". It is situated right on the very busy London road, dual carriageway, and not clearly signposted outside, so we drove straight past it twice, and had to double back to the town centre to get back to it. Parking is very limited outside, but we were given a warm welcome by the owner & shown to our room on the first floor. The overall ambience is "shabby chic" with painted antique style furniture & an ornate bedstead. the mattress was very soft & not very supportive. The showerroom was tiled in mosaics and showing it's age, although the large shower was powerfull with lots of hot water, There was little noise from the other residents, (apparently they were full)but even though our room was at the rear of the house, the noise from traffic... more
