This is a lovely place to stay and it is located just outside of Canterbury so we avoided all of the city traffic in the mornings. The room was newly furnished, extremely clean, spacious and had tea and coffee making facilities. The house has so much character and the owners Cheryl and Clive couldn't have been nicer. They showed us... more

What a splendid place this was. Cheryl and Clive were so gracious and helpful. The house is a beauty, a renovated inn from the 16th (maybe 17th?) century. We loved staying in the quiet away from Canterbury. It's a bit out of the way, but we thought it well worth it. If your target is Canterbury, you'll need either to... more

We selected this B & B on the basis of Trip Advisor reviews - so pleased we did! Cheryl and Clive are kind, warm and welcoming - wonderful hosts. They gave us helpful advice on local restaurants and transport into Canterbury. We were very well cared for! Breakfasts were yummy ( the bacon was the best tasted in England) and... more

Just return from a stay at this delightful B&B. The 400 year old building has been tastefully restored. The location is superb with 3 eating establishments within 5-10 minutes walk. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The owner/ managers, Clive and Cheryl, are excellent hosts and the breakfasts are excellent. We will return. more

The Old ship is an immaculate B&B in the heart of the beautiful Kentish village of Wingham. The beds were extremely comfortable, the breakfast was of the highest standard with quality ingredients and the owners very welcoming and accommodating. A tour of their lovely garden after breakfast was a treat. I would not hesitate to recommend the Old Ship -... more

My Fiancé and I needed a place to stay over for the night as we were going to a wedding at Knowlton Court, and we stumbled across this place on Trip Advisor. I have to say all other comments about the place are completely correct. The B&B is first class, lovely room, gorgeously powerful shower, vert comfy beds and a... more

The Old Ship B&B in Wingham (outside of Canterbury; near Dover) features warm hosting by Clive and Cheryl, a filling breakfast, and convenience to sightseeing in a charming village. We enjoyed the twin-bed room (huge tub-shower in a lrg bathroom adjacent) and though the window looked over the street, it was a quiet location at night. Enjoy a great meal... more
