Very bad service. Couldn't relax because they often say "I don't know" and "you have to tell me..." Had to find the switch in the dark to work the steep and narrow stairs. The room is reasonably clean but the bottles of shampoo and conditioner are covered by salt like dust. Yes, you can recycle but should make sure for... more

I was visiting on business and the hotel was booked for me by the company i was visiting. The location is excellent, very close to the centre of town. the rooms are clean and although my room was not ensuite, i didnt have to share a bathroom, so i had my own private bathroom. the breakfast was great and very... more

I stayed at the Coach House for four nights and loved it! The house itself is charming--clean, quiet, with fireplaces in the rooms and the bathrooms-- the breakfasts were very good, the owners were friendly and knowledgeable about the local area I would recommend it highly, unless you find stairs a problem. more

We stayed here two nights in April 2005. The first night, we were the only ones staying there. I rather agree with the other reviews - it is a bit musty, there is no cable tv, the shower has an electric pump to create pressure, there is a service charge to pay by credit card (which we only discoveed after... more

This place is a dump and a rip-off. 2.5% for credit cards and 10% for service on meals which were mediocre and wine poor, despite the advertised French owner/chef, who was charmingly eccentric, but a bit of a con. Fabric of the hotel was poor, as was cleanliness. This used to be a good place to stay (recommended to me... more

The fabric of the building is shabby - we thought we had turned up at the wrong hotel. This was a shame because part of the decision to book was made on the publicity photograph provided on an internet site. There was a mustiness in evidence as soon as you walked in the door. The indifferent welcome encapsulated the tiredness... more

Overall, we were not impressed with our stay here. The food was mediocre, despite the acclaim. The service was similar. The rooms need work - plumming is noisy, water pressure is poor (to non-existant), TV's have their own aerials (no central system), and lighting is dim. Main issue was that this was expensive for what we got. Also note that... more
