We had read about Magnolia House and were a little disappointed in it. The room was lovely and had a good bathroom and lighting. There was even a dressing table which is always nice. The welcome tray was also nice and the frig even had a welcome bottle of wine. A very nice young man greeted us, told us about... More

I had a lovely experience at this hotel. I was at Canterbury for an interview and due to nerves (I think!) I left something in my room, which Isobelle posted to me without taking a penny. Otherwise, very attentive (but not over the top) atmosphere in a lovely, well-appointed hotel. I liked the little touches in the rooms: sewing kit,... More

We stayed in the Garden Room of MH and I have to say it was impeccable, the smallest details are catered for in the room in regards to extras such as tea coffee, drinks and cookies which are all included. The room was beautifully presented as was the rest of the house and garden. The four poster bed was really... More

My partner and I stayed in Room 4 of Magnolia House and had a lovely, relaxing and very comfortable stay. We had been saving up for a special weekend away and spent a little more than we were intending to when we booked Magnolia House (my partner was hoping for a £19 Travelodge deal) but I was absolutely thrilled by... My wife and I have just had a wonderful, relaxing and peaceful stay. We stayed in the Garden Room which was spaceous and well appointed, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was really big as well. The room was finished with lots of nice touches, like decent coffee, fruit teas, wine and beer in the fridge, fresh milk,... More

We stayed here for 1 week this past week for a business trip. It was a wonderful stay. All of the rooms are nice. The best room is the Garden Room, followed by room 6. We had to switch rooms for a while due to a miscalculation on our part, but room 3 was nice as well. Breakfast was always... More

I returned to Magnolia House again. The owner and staff are so pleasant, helpful and friendly. The room, as always, was wonderful; clean, comfortable and with everything you could need and more! I wish that I could stay for longer. Thank you.

I booked this place as a surprise treat to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We stayed in the Garden Room which we thought was lovely. As a surprise the owner had left us a welcome card and a bottle of bubbly - a lovely touch. There was a well stocked fridge / mini-bar in the room and we had fresh milk... More

Great room and breakfast, lots of attention to detail and charming hostess. Beautiful garden and location. I'm very surprised to read comments here calling Magnolia House 'shabby and criticising the breakfast which was always fresh and delicious (including the lovely fruit salad with yogurt and honey etc, fresh juices, etc). There is a certain English style to the place which... More

Spent a couple of nights here at the beginning of November as the nights are drawing in and chilly. This hotel catered for our every need. The room was cosy and well stocked with tea biscuits wine beer and small fridge for fresh milk. The china was beautiful and included a teapot, just as I like it! Bed was very... More
