Visited at lunchtime. Waited an hour for our lunch - which was very over-priced for such average food. Complained about the wait - server was unapologetic, surly and couldn't care less. Eventually found our own cutlery. Would not go back. more

i havent visited the grove ferry for years because of some bad experiences in te past, the venue has always been beautiful if not tired looking. I recently returned there because a friend who lives locally said new people had taken over. I'm happy to say i didnt regret the visit. Still some room for improvment but i had a... more

‘Absolutely Awful’ would be the way to describe our evening out at Grove Ferry Inn. From the moment we entered through a grubby paint chipped door to sitting looking out of filthy windows and going to dirty toilets and eating at sticky tables. The service was poor with unprofessional staff being over familiar. As for the food it was poorly... more

My wife and I drove to Grove Ferry Nature Reserve and dropped our son off as he was canoeing with the Scouts. We had two hours to kill and I really fancied returning to the Grove Ferry Inn where, in my formative years, I had enjoyed good food, and great hospitality. I ought to mention that you should bear in... more

We went to the Grove Ferry Inn today to have a nice meal after a long country walk. It was past 2pm when we arrived there. The menu looked promising, however, we did not get to ever taste the allegedly good food. We waited about 5-10 minutes at the till to order our meals, but were constantly being ignored. There... more

We have just returned from our third overnight stay at the Grove Ferry Inn. We were impressed the first time we stayed there. The restaurant was very good, the food delicious, and the staff friendly and professional. The rooms and general state of decor really impressed - very stylish. Very quiet and comfortable, we thought the lavish bedrooms made for... more

We stayed for one night for a wedding reception the pub itself is very nice and the staff wonderful but the room left a lot to be desired. Not enough hot water to even 1/4 fill bath, bathroom very much in need of updating looks like someone had put a fist through bathroom door all rooms poorly lit the breakfast... more

This is definitely NOT a 4 star property. Very, very disappointing experience. We arrived at 2 in the afternoon, exhausted after a long drive, and were put in a room with a horrid grinding/whirring noise coming from the roof. We tried to relax, but it was awful and we could barely hear ourselves think. We were told it was a... more
