Someone needs to get a grip here. Acidic sauvingnon at £5.30 for a small glass. Rooms that are not really all that clean and the common hallways smell of old cooking fat.Water is either scalding or freezing. A disasterous breakfast. No brown bread and mostly deep fried. . Service tries but is all over the place. We even had to... more

I went for dinner at the Dog with my partner and mother in law and the 3 of us had a superb meal. Great selection to choose from which kept 1 commited meat eater and another vegi very, very happy. Delicious flavours and great service all through out dinner with no rush to pay and move on - you have... more

We booked this hotel through HostelBookers. Long after confirming our reservation and taking our 10% deposit we were sent an email saying they could no longer uphold our reservation due to a mix up in bookings. Then began a 2 month ordeal of constant phone calls and emails requesting our deposit be returned, not once was I called back or... more

We wanted to stay close to Canterbury to visit friends and pre-paid 5 nights at the Dog Inn because it was the best deal in the area, including a full English breakfast and free parking. Because it was such a good deal, we weren't expecting much. We were and were not surprised. The Dog Inn is not really convenient to... more

Considering the price, the Dog inn is certainly not worth it. The television didn't work, the rooms were stuffy, small and got became really hot during the night, making for a poor nights sleep. However the worst part was waking up in the morning to find no hot running water. The restraunt was fine except when we ordered the calamari... more

I booked the Dog in to do an expensive buffet for my fathers funeral lunch. I was more worried that it would be nice as people had travelled some way than the price.. I was ripped off. Any lady in the village could have done a nicer, better presented buffet for £100 than i was presented with for £750. It... more

We booked a golf trip for 4 couples with 4 rooms for a one night stay direct. The package included dinner for all and breakfast, accommodation and golf at Princes in Sandwich (10 mins from hotel)-because it was a late booking the chap on the phone included welcome drinks for us when we arrived-a nice touch. From start to finish... more

Ate here to celebrate a family birthday- truly, truly dreadful. The menu sounds tempting enough but if indeed there is provenance in the ingredients (local sea bream anyone? I have fished around Kent for years and never caught one)-then these guys really know how to destroy them. Without doubt the worst 40 pound a head meal I have ever eaten.... more

We stayed here for couple of nights, on a Dinner Bed and Breakfast package in September. All I can say is that the food was excellent and the Restaurant was busy with great atmosphire. The room was lovely, and had everything that we expected plus yummy chocolate biscuits and freeveiw tv and free wifi. The staff were helpful and friendly,... more

I wouldn't normally write a review but after our stay here I feel compelled to share our experience. We were looking forward to an evening meal and a night in one of the rooms and had booked a deal that included the price of the meal and breakfast. It was not cheap and we were expecting a high quality gastropub... more
