So I had to attend a conference in Canterbury... Decided at the very last minute( night before my visit to canterbury) that its best to stay over rather than commute. Called a few hotels, one of which was this. I was informed the only room available was the "value" lodge... And that included the breakfast. Price was ok plus it... More

Stayed at the Lodge for 1 night in May this year and on the positive side the location in the grounds of the cathedral and in the middle of town is superb. The views from the room, especially at night make this a unique hotel. The rooms were nicely appointed in terms of quality of the fittings and it was... More

Spent four nights at the Lodge. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. We arrived late and had a bit of trouble finding it but one phone call to them set it all to rights. Room was comfortable and modern with a view of the cathedral. Lovely to hear the cathedral bells and explore the grounds, Cathedral and old city.... More

As a senior solo traveler on her first visit to Canterbury, I chose to stay at the Canterbury Cathedral Lodge to be close to the center of town. I must admit that it was finest hotel accommodations that I had during my trip to England. I was mesmerized by the view from my second story window – the Cathedral is... More

It is truely a unique experience to stay in this hotel inside the grounds of the ancient Canterbury catherdral - the fact the precinct is closed to the public a 9.30pm means you can wander the historical precinct as if you have your own private viewing. The hotel itself is set in beautifully kept gardens and has warm and welcoming... More

Set in the very grounds of the cathedral with wonderful views across the garden. When the visitors have gone you can stroll around the grounds - particularly good at night when the edifice is illuminated. Lovely room also with spectacular view plus excellent staff and enormous breakfast and pass to the cathedral included - excellent value for money. A haven... More

the Lodge is a good quality hotel, with well appointed rooms, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, and a lovely breakfast room which serves freshly cooked food. The library is also a really comfortable sitting area, with a good range of (mostly religious) books. It's principal attraction, of course, is its location within the grounds of Canterbury Cathedral, and it's well... More

We stayed here for 3 nights from 14th April. Friendly check-in and as we had pre-booked a parking space, that was fine - just outside the Lodge. Location was great, it was lovely to be so close to the Cathedral and to be able to 'get up close' to this magnificant building. Also really good to be able to walk... More

I spent 5 teenage years in the precccincts of the Cathedral and this.. nearly sixty years later was my first return. Finding the hotel yards from the South entrance to the Cathedral, set back in an excellently sensitive new building complex was the first treat; the second was the warmth of welcome from the staff.
