I just stayed here for 2 nights, and I must say it wasn't enough. The cottage is lovely, the room is big with an amazing huge shower. Great breakfast and it's just 10 mins by car for Canterbury. Jac is lovely, she gave us great tips and helped us with anything e needed. Much recommended!

We were attending a wedding just down the road from Sylvan Cottage in early September 2012, and only chose Sylvan initially for it’s incredibly convenient location and decent nightly rate. The standard of accommodation itself was a very welcome surprise and we could not have been happier with the quality of both the property and the service we received from... More

We stayed 2 nights for a family wedding in Canterbury, and the location of Sylvan Cottage was perfect as the wedding reception was at Winters Barns - just 2 minutes walk down the road. On our arrival, Jac greeted us with tea and coffee and biscuits - an excellent start! Sylvan Cottage is an immaculately kept B&B. Our ground-floor room... More

Thanks for your review. We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. We always do our best to fix things If guests talk to us during their stay about minor adjustments such as bathroom doors, of which we are unaware. More

We stayed here for 3 nights, using this wonderful B&B as our base to tour Canterbury and Kent. The owners are great hosts, offered a very generous breakfast, and clearly thought of the needs of families with young children - most of what you could need is available, including lots of Lego! Although you can walk to town, we'd recommend... More

This was our 2nd visit and have also recommended family who have also loved it. Nothing bad to say, from ease of booking, lovely room overlooking the garden to fabulous breakfast. The cottage is beautiful, just outside Canterbury (you do need a car) and although on a main road, we weren't aware of the traffic. Jac greeted us with pot... More

A wonderful place! Comfortable, clean, stylish, welcoming, a real home from home. The owners have provided so many thoughtful touches for the comfort of their guests I really couldn't fault it. My only suggestion (and absolutely not a criticism) would be the addition of blackout curtains in the bedroom. We'll definitely be back and hopefully for longer next time!

My wife and I had a 3 very enjoyable nights at Sylvan and would recommend to others. Positives: - Friendly/approachable hosts (flexible with arrival/departure times) - Clean and tidy with thoughtful extras such as fruit bowl, biscuits, shampoo etc. in the room - Large open conservatory shared area - Medium sized attractive garden - Useful small guest kitchen with fridge... This is our first time posting a review on this website, but the Jac & Chris rightly deserve it. Fantastic facilities - big, comfortable rooms with lovely touches like fruit, Easter eggs, bottled water, kid's bubble bath/rubber ducks (they even provided a cupboard with items that one may have forgotten to take, like paracetamol, toothpaste/toothbrushes etc). Beautiful sitting/dining room with... More

The room, facilities and breakfast were 5 star. Excelent value for money. The post it notes and two pages of rules were a bit 1970's Blackpool Landlady. The owners need to accept that 99% of their clients know how to behave and don't need reminding.

We are very pleased these guests found our breakfasts and accommodation good, and agree that considerate and thoughtful guests do prefer the words ’enjoy’ and ‘yes’ without warning signs everywhere. ‘Make sure the front door is kept firmly closed’ is our only ‘rule’ because all guests have their own key. ‘Post it’ orders are very popular during the leisurely 4...
